Trupanion gave my vet. an estimate of the cost of the surgery, within about 1 hr. I knew what my portion was I had to pay and what Trupanion would pay. I knew before the surgery what my cost would be. That was great. Trupanion sent me a email explaining everything. I would definitely recommend Trupanion. All of the staff is knowledgeable an very nice.

Submitted my claim, got a refund for most of my bill quicker than I thought, no questions asked. 👍 My only concern is there should be some preventative maintenance allowance. You say you don't pay for boarding. I get it. But if I hadn't have had boarded Rusty I would have had a reopened wound and another ER visit plus more stitches. I did try one day and yup back to vet to help wrap his tender tail. That equals more money than just boarding him so the vet can make sure he doesn't pull bandage off again. He has a big head and wore the largest cone offered 24/7 but he could still reach his tale and pull bandage off. Thus why boarding him made more since. Preventative maintenance. He was only day boarded when I was at work.
