I LOVE NATIONWIDE/VPI PET INS...I HAVE HAD THIS INS. SINCE MY DOG WAS 3 MONTHS.. HE IS NOW GOING TO BE 13 YEARS OLD IN NOV...THEY HAVE ALWAYS BEEN VERY EASY TO DEAL WITH AND HELP ME IF I HAD ANY QUESTIONS....THE MOST IMPORTANT THING FOR ME IS THAT A COMPANY REP KNOWS WHAT THEY ARE TALKING ABOUT (SO MANY REPS AT DIFFERENT KINDS OF COMPANIES ARE NOT VERY HELPFUL THESE DAYS..) ALSO THE REPS AT NATIONWIDE ARE SO FRIENDLY AND CARING.ABOUT ONES PET....

Life Saver | Nationwide is really by your side
Taffy our American Bulldog needed TPLO torn ACL knee surgery and Nationwide truly was "by our side". This allowed us to concentrate on Taffy and her recovery and we received the "all clear" 5 weeks earlier than expected!

As new “parents” to Harry, we were very worried when he was limping and favoring one foot after running in the park. I called the Nationwide helpline and after going through several “tests” over the phone, they suggested I take Harry to the ER. They said that he was clearly experiencing pain, even if he hadn’t seriously injured his foot and it would be worth the trip even if just to get a pain reliever. I was pleasantly surprised that Nationwide recommended what was best for Harry and not the cost. I had already met my $100 deductible, so the trip to the ER and medication cost me $12 out of pocket. $12!!! Amazing.

My dog Ginger was scheduled for surgery on August 22nd. The night before her surgery, I went to print out a claim form to bring to the animal hospital. At that time, I realized that I should have submitted a pre-certification form before the surgery could be completed. I called the hospital and thought that I would have to cancel the surgery. They said to come in anyway, and they would call Embrace in the morning when they opened, and see if they could give the approval. I really expected a no answer, but that was not the case. Embrace spoke to the hospital, and returned an approval for surgery within an hour. I was beyond grateful!! Now that I know that any procedure involving surgery needs pre-certification, I will not make that mistake again. But it was soooo nice that Embrace was understanding that I made a mistake, and helped me out by rushing through the approval. I cannot say enough great things about this company! Embrace is the BEST!

Not entering claim date correctly and delaying my $300 reimbursement
It’s frustrating when I send in a claim and have two separate itemized receipts with it that the cheaper receipt goes through but the receipt over$400 somehow gets put in with the wrong date and is lost. So when I call in about it because I see one covered but not the more expensive one, they tell me it had the wrong date on it and they’ll fix it but it can still take over a week before it’s processed. It’s annoying that this is the first time I’ve had a claim this expensive and the first time they’ve messe it up. Strange to me. Almost like they didn’t want to reimburse me for the more costly receipt. Hopefully they will get it processed quickly being that it was their mistake. First time I’ve been disappointed with them so I would still recommend them but they should make a point to fix their mistake as quickly as possible instead of just saying it’ll be rather regular process time.

Highly recommend
I can’t say enough about how great this insurance is! My kitty got sick and was hospitalized for 5 days. I submitted the claims and they paid them in a couple of weeks. My cat has needed some follow up and and the claims have been paid so quickly! I don’t know what we would have done if my cat didn’t have this insurance? We could never have afforded to pay all of his bills. I’m forever grateful to the ASPCA insurance company!
