Overall very happy but claim response has been slow
Overall we are very happy that we got pet insurance. Claim resolution has been fair. Submitting a claim is super easy with the app and they pay with direct deposit. When I first signed up they resolved claims within a week or two and now it seems to stretch in to four weeks which means that it takes longer to get repaid. Hoping that they speed things up. We absolutely do recommend Nationwide Pet Insurance to friends and would get it again.

Electronic Payment Problems
Very good service. Request for additional Vet information to complete my claim was totally understandable but found the electronic payment confirmations a pain. Both Nationwide & my bank need confirmations to pay. Why do I need to confirm I want payment. My payments expired after I followed procedures but not correctly I guess. Chase advised I needed to start over with Nationwide. Thankfully I was told they would cut a paper check. I will be opting out of electronic payments but the quick recovery from Nationwde was excellent.

Great response
I like the way you stay in touch and let us know when our vet has filed our claim. Also like that you make fairly prompt payment with no questions asked.

Nationwide is easy and quick
Thanks to Nationwide Pet insurance, I don't have to worry about money when making medical decisions for our dog. It is easy to submit a claim and, in my experience, they process the claims in under a month. It has come in handy multiple times for our family.

Vet insurance
I have not had any issues with nationwide pet insurance. I’m glad we got it to be honest. If I had to say one thing that could be improved on is the processing time on a claim. Average time has been 2 to 3 weeks. But overall truly no complaints very good pet insurance.

Untimely, unresponsive, partial coverage
The amount of time that it took to review my cats chart and make a payment was completely in adequate, when I called to ask for an explanation I was given short rude answers, and in the end the coverage was only partial, I was never told there were caps on everything.

There is no better value or customer experience than Trupanion
My dog Buckaroo was born missing a front limb, her back limbs have patella luxation. When it was time for surgery on one of back limbs Trupanion was AMAZING. The approved and paid the claim within days of submission. Buckaroo also ingested some acorns, that required a trip to the emergency room, some test and medication, once again Trupanion approved and paid the claim that same week. I knew I was adopting a special needs pet, and feared that even though I had her insured, I would end up with some costly medical bills for her, choosing Trupanion has been one of the best decisions I made to keep my girl happy and healthy.

they are officially bad
This company will probably not be the one that you are looking for. I have had the insurance for my dog since 2016. They have raised the rate three times and changed the policy detail regarding deductible and refused my claim ( hematoma and prescription for the yeast was not associated, but they keep saying that it is relevant). I have felt okay even if they have done those, but today I am very disappointed and regretful that I have spent 1,500 dollars for the past two years. I have recently moved out of the States. Trupanion insurance has no coverage in this country. I have left a message in order to cancel on the day that I have arrived, but nothing happened and I was charged my monthly bill. I've waited for a week, but nothing changes. So, I have made an international call to cancel and ask for the full refund because I have left a message. However, they kept asking me to provide the evidence for the full refund. Since my policy resets every third of the month, the prorated refund may be $53 and the full refund is $69. Seriously? The call costs me $15 for 15min. Why should I prepare for the evidence for the message? If the company do not have any tool to sort out the message that customers may leave via the website, it is useless and meaningless. you guys are wasting my time and money.
