Well worth the money

I find every time I submit a claim, it’s processed quickly, they communicate well, and the amount they reimburse me is fair.

Nationwide REALLY is on MY Side

I am absolutely amazed and impressed with the pet policies through Nationwide!!! I have three dogs, all covered by Nationwide. The company is wonderful. My dog, Thor was recently diagnosed with cancer (he is only 5). Nationwide has given me the ability to make life altering decisions for Thor!! He is pain free and has quality of life. Thank you, Nationwide. Having a pet with cancer has been less traumatic knowing you have my back!!

Promises Promises

When I enrolled I was told pre-existing conditions like ear infections are covered after six months of no recurrence. I've appealed and appealed and all I get are letters saying you need another 30 days to review. Not happy!

Emergency surgery for bloat/GVD coverd by Healthy Paws

My GSD is recovering from emergency surgery to save his life from his stomach flipping 180 due to bloat/GVD. The emergency vet clinic quoted $5K-$9K for the surgery with no guarantee of the outcome. I was able to say "just do it ASAP" and I knew Healthy Paws would cover most of the cost. Having Healthy Paws insurance removed having to make a painful decision based on finances to save my dog's life. I submitted the claim to Healthy Paws on-line, and a check for ~87% of the cost (minus $250 annual deductible and exam fee) is on its way to me. I STRONGLY recommend Healthy Paws to any dog owner - even unexpected non life threating treatments can cost $100s or $1000s . I decided on Healthy Paws versus other insurances because they are not "schedule" based (which only cover certain treatments for fixed amounts) and have an annual deductible, not a per-incident deductible. They have been prompt and efficient in processing claims, even inquiring how he is doing. So Mikey is doing great, back to normal, and is scheduled to get the 21 staples out of his belly today (ouch!).

Easy filing process, no questions, great follow-through

We put Richard on VPI (Nationwide) when he was a puppy; no questions knowing he was a bulldog. 6 years later, he had a torn ACL and a torn MCL —- a full TPLO, a metal plate, and 6 screws later, he’s a brand new man! We had never used his insurance before the surgery, and never questioned whether Nationwide would cover his costs when it came time. We were referred to a top-orthopod in town for his bully knees and his special surgery needs. Nationwide took care of Richard ever step of the way. We can’t thank them enough. I recommend Nationwide to everyone I know. I will always keep our dogs with Nationwide.

Took a while to process the claim, but otherwise a perfect experience

I used the online portal built into my vet's system for this claim - which I loved doing. The only downside is that it took quite a bit longer to process this claim than it had in the past when I mailed them in. That long processing time - well over a month - is what prevented a perfect score.
