Good coverage - slow payouts

This is the first time I’ve purchased pet insurance. I opted for the highest coverage and added the additional rider in order to help cover his neutering and other annual costs. I will re-evaluate the rider when the policy is up for renewal as I may not need the top tier or maybe won’t need to carry it for the following year. I’ve found they do cover quite a bit at a high percentage- 90%. My only complaint so far is the reimbursement of claims have been taking at least 6 weeks. At times if I’ve had multiple claims pending once the oldest hits 6 weeks they will include the next claim in the reimbursement with the check. When questioned about the long time to process claims I’ve been told by multiple employees that it’s just due to high volume they’ve received from the summer of 2018 and on. They tell me they are working to Getting back to processing claims within 4 weeks. But I still feel a month is a long time for claim approval turnaround and payout. It would be great if the approval and payout could be within a couple of weeks as some other pet insurance companies say they do. The customer service reps when contacted have always been easy to work with and been able to answer my questions. But other than the longer reimbursement timing I’m overall happy with the coverage.

given wrong information regarding policy coverage

Would not recommend! Asked specific questions regarding care treatment and coverage for injured puppy and was told by customer representative that is this was totally covered and no problem. Submitted the claims and was denies stating it was pre existing and not a covered procedure. I cancelled the puppy's policy as well as their litter mates polices.

Everyone Should have Pet Insurance

We love our puppy but it's expensive to have a dog and three kids! Our Nationwide insurance makes it easy to take the best care of Nova. He has had two ear infections and his neuter in the short time we've had him. I love that we can count on our insurance to motivate us to take him in to see the vet right away if something isn't right. The claims process is easy and timely. We are very happy and yes in love with our baby boy, Nova!

Nationwide is truly on your side.

I was so glad my veterinarian doctor recommended Nationwide Pet Insurance a year ago. Unfortunately Zara has needed medical attention it seems every month. Without this insurance I'm not sure how I would have paid for Zara's bills. I know one thing some way I'd get her, her needed treatment. But because my Vet recommended Nationwide Pet Insurance they have helped not only Zara but gave me piece of mind. Thank You.

Attention to Details

Initially, the claim was denied for not being in force at the time of treatment. Since my premiums are automatically deducted, this was surprising given I was in the middle of my term. After reading through, I found the reviewer had input the date of service as 01/08/18 instead of 19. I submitted on 01/10/19. Logically speaking, it seems odd a reviewer wouldn't find it odd that I was submitting one year and two days after treatment. When I called to have this reviewed, the rep was very blase about the situation and said people make mistakes. I agree and that's fine, but the reviewer has a few basic items to check during their review and this was basic. It resulted in wasting my time on hold for about 15 mins, the rep having to answer, the supervisor with whom I had to speak about why this was an issue after the rep show a lack if understanding. A two second typo resulted in wasted time. Attention to detail is key.

BEST for sure!

By far the easiest, quickest and most convenient way to file claims. I am extremely satisfied and I will be a "forever" customer for sure! I'm also satisfied with the coverages. I can rest peacefully knowing that when and if I need to bring one of my fur babies in to the doctor, I can do without worry. I highly recommend them to anyone and everyone who has pets!

Unexpected severe price hikes

I had insured my rottweiler mix for 4 years with Embrace, and never filed a claim. Each year, my premium went up by 12-17%, which is expected. The 5th year, my premium went up by 35%! I was on an auto renewal plan. I looked on their website, which listed an email address to contact with complaints. I emailed that address 3 days before my auto-renew. I didn't hear anything back. They withdrew the annual premium from my bank account. When I called several days later after seeing the withdrawal from my bank account, they told me they had no idea what email address I was talking about; I had to tell them where it was listed on their own website. They said they never got my email. They did refund my premium when I said I was cancelling. They said that the price hike was because of my dog getting older, and that they'd adjusted their prices due to market changes. But 35% is crazy! My policy went from six hundred and change per year to nine hundred dollars per year in one jump. If you use them, look very carefully at your bills.
