Straight forward claim process — payout amounts are varied
All in all an okay company. Customer service was positively responsive and my claims were processed on an average of 10 business days. Payouts for treatments covered varied though and was left paying a hefty portion out of pocket for some emergency treatments. A trip to the emergency vet last month cost $2200 and we received half of that back. Not sure if this is standard but deafly was a hit

I wish you did human medical insurance!
If every company worked in the way that Nationwide did, the world would be a place of peace and harmony. I have four pets and in the two years we have been with nationwide I have never had anything but a 5* experience. I recommend you to everyone - even people without pets!

Nationwide Pet Insurance is awesome!
We needed to go to vet twice because Augusto cut his leg and had an issue with his anal gland and things were solved with very good and kind vets!

Lifesaver
Our pet insurance has literally been a lifesaver. It removes cost concerns from the equation when faced by decisions as to how to treat an illness, an injury (in our puppy’s case), or a bad choice (also our puppy's case). We’re very grateful for the coverage, and glad we made the choice long ago to cover each of our furry family members this way! The only thing I have to say that is even remotely negative is that the claim seems to sit in a black hole for a bit longer than you might expect... we got acknowledgment of receipt of the claim, and then I could check online anytime to see that it was still processing - but it took 3 - 4 weeks to complete and get our reimbursement (which was very quick and easy).

I've been with Nationwide for years and I am very pleased with the coverage. Claims are handled in a timely manner and reimbursements have always been paid fairly. I will definitely use Nationwide for our next pet.

Nationwide is The Best
I’ve never had a claim problem with Nationwide. I recommend it every time I go to the vet or have a conversation with friends who have pets. We recently lost our sweet boy to feline leukemia. Every claim I filed was promptly considered and paid if benefits were available. The painful passing of our pet companion, then filing a claim was done with ease. Thank you so much.

Nationwide helped me save my dog
My 7 year old Rottweiler was not doing well. He had constant diarrhea from Pancreatitis and was also coughing from a lung infection. The coughing was continuous followed by throwing up stomach acid for 48 hours straight. Nationwide helped me pay for xrays, ultrasound, various tests, and all the medicines needed to bring my dog back to health! They even help me pay for the ongoing prescription diet to treat his pancreatitis! Every claim has been paid quickly, without any issues. Best insurance I have seen.

They did what they said and are wonderful.
We had not had pet insurance before. We adopted Leilani at 10weeks and 4days after her adoption she had a sliver in her gum requiring anesthesia to remove. Thenbillmwas $500.00. The vet at our clinic said 2 words pet insurance when you have a puppy. It took me a few days and then I called. The man who answered my call was patient, professional and very kind in answering all my questions. He was very clear about what would be covered. Ther was so little difference in pricing from low to top of line for me as a retired RN I signed up for the top of the line. Well here we are at the age of 8.5 months Leilanimis diagnoised with bilateral luxation of her patellas with patella tendonions repair needed. $3000.00 later she is doing well and Imreceive notification that my check is on it's way exactly as the policy states. Wish my health insurance was as quick. We are trilled with our experience. Imalso have spoken to others who have had same experience. Thank youmfor a great experience.
