With the high cost of vet bills you'd be crazy not to have Insurance for your pet!
Had some issues with medication claims as well as two Dr.'s visits that were not submitted by the Vets office in a timely manner. With the help of an Embrace representative all medication claims were honored and as for the two office visits one was covered due to the fact that the vets office provided proof of fax date and information sent to Embrace. The other office visit was not covered due to the vets office waiting too long to submit the claim. I now check on all claims and dates submitted and am vigilant about using the claims Portal. I do appreciate Embrace for honoring all claims eventually within the policy time frame.

Deductible is high, customer service horrible, confused by high rating
We had issues with our dog that seemed to be covered but were not when you look into the fine print. Fine, not the issue here. The issue is the absolute lack of correspondence, disappointing customer service, coupled with the extremely high deductible - with no payout. I am utterly confused by the high ratings of this insurance company. This was why we chose them in the first place. Having brought up the name to our vet, they told us that a lot of patients have issues with them. I feel slightly swindled! Will be going with a different provider.

Trupanion allowed to not think twice about the cost of procedures or testing and focus on my dogs wellbeing.
My precious Sparky got diagnosed with insulinoma about 6 months ago now. At first he was very sick and having constant seizures. He was also quite lathargic, which is very unusual for a Jack Russell. I immediately brought sparky to the vet where they were also very relieved we had Trupanion as the testing ahead to figure out what was wrong we’re going to be costly. The vet suggested an oncologist about 2 hours from us. Sparky spent over 12 hours there while we waited in the waiting room. Without trupanion I would have wondered how on earth I would be able to pay for all the tests and meds they gave him that day. Instead, i was able to say “yes” without hesitation to all the tests and meds that were needed in order to get the answers we needed to properly diagnose his illness and care for him. Sparky is still with us today and no longer having seizures. He was given 6 months to a year to live and I think he’ll make it to at least the 1 year mark. His meds have kept him happy and stable and able to go on running and sniffing around his big backyard. Not every day is perfect. In fact, we had another $500 bill last week. It seems trupanion will really go the extra mile to try their best to cover what they can. I was going to cancel this policy about a month before sparky got sick and for some reason I never got around to it. I am so happy that I didn’t. I don’t think I will ever have a dog without insurance again for life’s unexpected moments. The money paid out far outweighs the monthly costs of the insurance. Not to mention the customer service reps are always very helpful and compassionate individuals!! Thank you Trupanion for helping out with my Sparky and so many other pets out there.

Thank you so much for your speedy response to my claim. I expected a much longer turn around time for my claim to be processed. I also appreciate the excellent customer service I have received over the phone as well. Your agents are always knowledgeable and act with care. Mia was great
I called in to check on how to submit medical records when I have never had any for my dogs, being that that is the only thing that can approve my claim I had no Idea as to how to get around this besides canceling everything. So I called in and talked to Mia, she assured me that if I send in a Gab Letter they will consider it, so I am thankful for that information and have done so just waiting for a response.

BeBe is my first dog and had no idea about pet insurance. It is offered through my employer and I jumped at the chance to get it. You never know what might come up. She is a member of my family and deserves to be treated as such. I am happy with Nationwide for their insurance and their customer service.

Set our minds at ease
This was the 1st time we had a possible claim during an emergency situation. Your staff listened, shared personal experiences and answered all my questions. It was not only great to get answers but with the nature of the emergency having someone who set our minds at ease helped us make better informed choices with regards to our pets care & what we could afford put of pocket. Murphy is on the mend and hopefully we will not have an emergency of this nature again!
