Now that claims can be submitted with the VitusVet App Nationwide is so much better

Submitting a claim used to be ridiculous. It was a hassle with paper forms, Nationwide always claimed that not enough information was provided. Even my vet struggled to make it work. With the new VitusVet app it's like this service is finally out of the 1990s from a technology perspective. I was honestly considering cancelling the insurance because I hated submitted claims so much. With this improvement, River and I are once again happy customers.

Took a ridiculous amount of time to process medical history records before issuing claims created over 4 months ago.

We obtained a policy in November 2018 when we adopted our boy Klaus from the SPCA. We had some medical bills totalling over a 1000 and initially did not receive a single penny due to a lack of medical records. We submitted all medical records from the SPCA on Decemver 15, 2018. Nationwide took the full 30 days to tell us they would need an additional 30 days to process. We waited a full 60 days for a reprocessing of the already submitted claims from December. We finally got paid out the expected amount after our deductible was met in April 2019. I would not recommend this policy to other pet owners. Go with pet plan if you want better service. Totally disappointed with what I was led to believe would be a pleasant experience with a great company like Nationwide.

So glad I don't have to worry about how I can afford to save my cat!

I recently got 2 Maine Coon kittens last year and my boss gave me the best advice I have ever gotten, get pet insurance! Not even 6 months after I get the insurance, one of my boys had a freak accident and fractured his spine. Numerous tests and a surgery later I have my spunky kitty back. ASPCA insurance was wonderful! My claims were paid within 4 weeks and they called and asked how he was. If I didn't have insurance, I would be paying for this for the rest of my life. Thank you!!
