The claims we have submitted so far, have been handled quickly and perfectly. It's really nice to work with a company that has us and our dog's best interest in mind.

Charged a new deductible for the same condition when treatment became expensive
I have 4 pets insured with Trupanion. What I've found is that they arbitrarily charge a new deductible when treatment gets expensive. The policy has one deductible per condition. Once the deductible is met you're not supposed to be charged a deductible again. In the last 30 days my cat became very ill. I began submitting invoices for his vet visits. They did not subtract a deductible at first (my cat had been treated in 2017 and the deductible had been met). My cat continued to be sick and there were many vet visits. After receiving a particularly high estimate for treatment, Trupanion arbitrarily charged me a new $800 deductible. They are not acting in good faith. I'm a good customer with several pets insured and they're still trying to keep $800 of my money. So be prepared to get jacked by Trupanion if the bills start to get high.

I've been very happy with Trupanion. She twisted her knee and needed TPLO surgery and they've been quick and responsive with reimbursing us for covered expenses. We're very glad we have this insurance!!

Life Saver
My pup is just a little over a year and I rescued him from a family friend. He's a pit mix so he likes to chew up and destroy toys but one day he ate his rope toy and it got stuck in his intestines. It was a very scary time for me because I didn't understand why he was so sick. I rushed him to the hospital and they told me he needed surgery asap to remove everything that was stuck inside his tummy. Being a dog mom I threw my credit card at them and told them I didn't care the price I just wanted him to feel better. So they swiped away and the bill was way more expensive than I would've thought. Without thinking twice I didn't have anxiety because I knew Nationwide would take care of me. Nationwide took care of 90% of the cost and replied to my claim in a timely manner. Thanks to them my dogo and I can live life happy as ever because we know Nationwide will take care us.
