Great experience so far with Pet Insurance

I've had a really good experience with my pet insurance so far. I've called a couple of times with questions on my policy and the support team is very friendly and helpful. The reimbursements for claims have been an easy process and have come quickly after the claim has been submitted.

Very Pleased with Service

Was hoping to never have to use my pet insurance for anything other than preventive exams but unfortunately, I got tossed a curve. Lexi successfully got through surgery and is healing! I am grateful for this insurance. It has made caring for Lexi much less stressful. The ease to submitting claims and the quick turnaround times on claim payment has been wonderful. Glad to have Nationwide!

Beware of Nationwide Pet Insurance - they search for reasons to deny your claim

Beware of Nationwide - they seem to have an entire team of lawyers and vets on their staff whose only job is to find a reason to “deny” your claim. For example, my 5 y/o female Siberian Husky weighs 44 lbs(average weight for female Siberian Husky is 35-50lbs). Our vet “recommended” she loose 4-5lbs to get her down to a “lean weight”. Since our vet recommended she loose 4-5lbs, Nationwide categorized her as “obese” while reviewing my claim for a torn knee meniscus surgery and denied the claim. I asked Nationwide to explain the definition of obese(because our vet had NEVER used that term while assessing our dog). Nationwide said their term obese applies to any pet that is above the vet’s recommended weight. I found that to be astounding and asked the representative if a 100lb dog was 1/2 lb over the vet’s recommended weight - would that dog be obese under Nationwide’s insurance claim definition? Her answer was “yes”. So there you have it, if your pet is 1 ounce over the vets recommended weight you can expect to have any and all claims denied that “could be caused by or a result of obesity”. What issues can arise from obesity in order to deny a claim? Let your imagination run wild.. Tony Valenti New Orleans, La

Healthy Paws means peace of mind.

My bóxer, Zip, has had two surgeries in her short life. Healthy Paws not only reimbursed me quickly but called to check on Zip and me. My own insurance doesn’t do that. Always friendly, always helpful. I’ll be a Healthy Paws person furever!
