Phone app is not very user friendly and has numerous issues. Also, process for reimbursement can be fast or super slow!!

My experience with MetLife has been perfect! I've had a few claims since becoming a member, and everything has gone smoothly. Also, I have had a few questions and have always been treated with knowledgeable and friendly customer service. As long as I have a pet, no matter how old, I will always be a MetLife member.

Fast and kind responses
We’ve only had to take in our little buddy Bruce twice this year for vet visits for one reason or the other. Spot has made it incredibly easy to submit claims and are prompt with response times. I’ve also called in the advice line and felt the staff is kind and knowledgeable. I am so glad we made the switch this year!

Pets Worst
Denied my claim because they requested medical records that simply never existed. Every email sent to me said they would get all the information from the vet and then they demand records that simply never existed

They paid exactly what they were…
They paid exactly what they were supposed to pay. The main problem I had was uploading documents they needed in the app. The file was always too big. But I was able email them. Another small issue was they requested documents multiple times when I had already sent them. But overall I was very pleased. They processed the claim quickly.

Best Customer Service Rep Ever
I called in to Pets Best to get support on a renewal, to make sure I could adjust my monthly premium in order to keep our insurance policy. I spoke with Daina and to be honest, she was so amazing that I don't think we can ever change pet insurance providers now. I've never experienced a customer support representative with the level of empathy and compassion as her, and we ended up chatting far and beyond! Not only did she EASILY and quickly offer the support I needed, it feels like I left the call with a new friend. 10/10 never experienced this from an insurance company and she needs a promotion!

If you have a fur baby, get Nationwide Pet Insurance. You will not regret it if you do. But you will regret it if you don't!
I would rate 10 stars if I could. I adopted my sweet pup and immediately enrolled in Nationwide Pet Insurance. I selected the policy with the $250 deductible and 50% reimbursement. I cannot tell you how great it is to know that no matter what, they will be there. My sweet pup passed at the age of 4 due to pancreatitis and left me with a broken heart and huge $11,800 bill. I filed a claim and had a check within a week for 50% of that bill. Not only did they refund me a policy over payment but they also sent a sweet card to share their condolences. I am working on adopting 2 new pups and Nationwide Pet Insurance will be my first call once I get them home. I know we do not plan for our babies to get sick but it is so much easier knowing that you are protected financially and it allowed me to give my baby a better chance at fighting even though he did not make it. I knew I did everything I could.

The insurance is great but check for wait times
Overall the insurance is great with the coverage and price being better than other plans. However, you have to be very mindful when signing up to be sure there is no wait time for any component going into effect. When I signed up for two of my cats there was no wait time but when I signed up my 3rd cat there was a wait time for illness and I did not fully understand the implications which meant that anything the vet noticed at the initial exam (in my case the cat had diarrhea and a possible heart murmur) was considered preexisting and will never be covered. This has resulted in them excluding reimbursement portions of standard biannual tests including fecal exams (which are part of a test package of blood and fecal) from my claims. Also, while the customer service reps are empathetic it’s better to talk to a manager when trying to resolve claim issues. Jess has been more responsive and helpful than others.
