Phew!
I cannot tell you how happy I am with getting Nina covered. She wears her Nationwide tag proudly on her collar. She had a couple of health issues come up this year and the coverage really helped. I only wish my own health insurance was so accommodating and easy to work with.

Denied claim within first month, so I cancelled policy early
I insured my three cats. After filing my first two claims (one for $30 and one for $32), they denied the second claim because they connected an unrelated illness from over two months prior to one of the claims. I explained that it was unrelated, and they told me that I could appeal it if I got a supporting letter from my vet. It would cost money to get a letter, rendering the whole claim virtually pointless. I told them that if this was how the relationship was going to be, and that they were going to deny stuff for no reason, then it'd be better if I wasn't insured by them anymore. I cancelled.

Difficult to work with
I have had many claims denied because they needed more info. When I submitted the claim again with additional information, it was denied again due to being submitted multiple times. I almost decided not to bother submitting claims anymore due to the difficulty I experience in submitting them. Additionally, the claim submitting process is a pain. It would be great if we could just upload documents right to the website. Prior to coming to Nationwide, I used Pets Best insurance. I switched due to getting coverage through my employer but I wish I hadn't. If I had done more research into the claim submitting process prior to switching to Nationwide, I would have stayed with Pets Best. Now I can't switch back because anything that is currently covered will become a pre-existing condition. I will say that once I finally did get some claims approved, the payment process was simple, although I wish they could deposit directly to me instead of going through Chase Payments.

I never have issues!
The claim submittal process is easy, especially using VitusVet. My boy has a skin allergy and sometimes it seems it’s under control and then poof he has an outbreak of a rash or is itching. Getting him relief is so important and Nationwide is helping us every step of the way.

Lack of care
I have had nothing but difficulty getting Ookii's claim paid for his August visit. My vet had has done everything they can and submitted requested information as well as myself and when we are told everything needed has been received, another reason pops up why they can't pay the claim.
