Turning a negative into a positive
At first what may seem a negative turned out to be a positive in my eyes. Trupanion had trouble finding information on my pet Lily, which extended the time I had to wait to see how much they were going to pay my emergency room. The text kept coming in and telling me they were sorry, but they were waiting on Trupanion for an answer. This really didn’t bother me because my pet is the most important thing to me and if I had to wait, I had to wait. My veterinarian leader told me she really had to push to get Trupanion to come through and I really appreciated that, but it is what I really appreciated was Trupanion called me and explained things to me over the phone and then I got an email with an apology that things had to go on so long. All in all a positive experience with everybody working together, which is more important than anything. And Trupanion did compensate well but then again I compensate them well every month with $280 a month for two dogs. But I am not leaving Trupanion! Not over a high premium. Take care!

Breed issue not covered
My dog had heat stroke and you tried to deny the entire claim till the dr argued for me. Stenotic nares is a breed specific issue which was why I got Trupanion in the first place when he was 8 weeks old. The fact you used the breed specific issue to try and deny life threatening care for my animal is unacceptable at best

My experience has by far been very…
My experience has by far been very difficult and has been an extremely long process. I purchased this insurance for my puppy who at the time was 3 mos old. I took him to vet to get shots and we’ll check. Well now this company is asking for his itemized report from 11/2024 and my pet was not even born. I do not recommend anyone to purchase this health insurance as it has been 10 days and I still have not been reimbursed and still counting. I still have hope that there is better insurance for your pets out there.

The first time dog owner I had a very hard time to choose the right insurance for my dog finally I chose trupanion I'm very happy with them they stand for what they are just had an incident with my dog bone fracture and everything was smooth no gimmicks very happy with them

Trupanion is the best !
Trupanion is easy to submit claims, reimbursement arrives quickly and most importantly the customer service is wonderful, helpful and answers all questions I’ve had. No haggling over vet bills or tons of exclusions like other insurers( which I’ve had). I don’t have to worry about whether a vet visit will be covered and it’s great peace of mind.
