Scam insurance

Do not buy. Everything falls into "not covered" for them. Even perfectly outlined first vet visit was not covered because they themselves put it in a different category. The money they were supposed to cover initially (around $400) included some tests and medication which, again, they wrote off as something else as to not pay for it. You get reimbursed for a stool sample per year, that's it.

Not what it used to be

I’ve had Pets Best for several years, with four different dogs. Unfortunately, things have changed dramatically with underwriting and customer service for the worse. The final straw was denial of a claim for a broken tooth. Yes, I’m sure my dog chewed on something too hard and broke a molar. They denied the claim, stating that the condition was “caused by periodontal disease”. Other claims have been denied for reasons that I believe is due to aggressive pursuit and twisting of the “fine print”. The customer service is atrocious. The recording informs you that your wait time for help with a claim or exiting policy is a minimum 30 minutes, and to cancel a policy is 45. To get a new policy? Yeah, 10 minutes. Over the years, Pets Best was a good company overall for what pet insurance is for. Now I believe it’s been taken over by nothing more than bean counters.

WORST Pet Insurance I've had.

This is the worst pet insurance experience I’ve had. Your website and online platform have been nonfunctional for months, making it nearly impossible to manage claims. My coverage is being denied for “pre-existing conditions,” even though the symptoms are new and fall well within the active policy period. I’m also being asked for additional documentation (an itemized invoice) that was already submitted with the original claim. When I try to upload it again through the portal, it simply doesn’t work. It genuinely feels like these obstacles are intentionally put in place to discourage customers from pursuing valid claims. I doubt anyone will read or respond to this review to address these serious service issues. If I’m not contacted, I will be canceling my policy before the next billing cycle.

This company is giving big SCAM energy...

This company is giving big SCAM energy... there's no access to their portal, they have a new excuse as to why each day.. You can only submit a claim by emailing a generic inbox and then when you call you wait at least 45 min, only for them to say they can't see if the email was received. If you ask to speak to someone in the claims dept they will tell you there's no phone number to transfer you to... I guess those guys work in the Cone of Silence and never have to communicate with anyone else in the company. They drag out the claims process as long as possible so that they can collect as many monthly payment before you get pissed and cancel the policy. I have reported them to the Federal Trade Commission and I encourage everyone to do the same.

We enrolled in Pets Best insurance to ensure our furry friends are cared for in case of any major situation requiring a significant investment.
