Repeated Bouts of Pneumonia
I am constantly recommending Pets Best to my friends and family who are pet owners or are considering becoming pet owners. Nearly eight months ago, I had to rush my dog to the emergency room because he was struggling to breathe. He was diagnosed with aspiration pneumonia and had to stay in the hospital for several nights before being sent home with antibiotics. A few days after the antibiotics ran out, he again started coughing and struggling to breathe and ended up back in the emergency room and hospital for a few more nights. This cycle repeated a third time before we found out he has Irritable Bowel Disease which was causing him to regurgitate. He was apparently inhaling some of his regurgitation at times, causing him to repeatedly get pneumonia. We're finally getting to the other side of things as we continue to consult with our regular vet and an internal medicine specialist, but we wouldn't have gotten this far without Pets Best. The bills for all of this treatment have been astronomical, but Pets Best covered our costs as outlined in our plan with no hassle or questions asked. It has been one of the best experiences I've had with any company and absolutely saved my dog's life.

Terrible experience and not worth having
My dog broke his foot on 09/30/2025 and ended up being 5 vet visits - xrays, cast changes... They processed the incident date as 10/17 (?), which was one of the follow up visits and then only processed the things done on that one visit. Completely at a loss of what was done. Submitted all 5 vet printouts and sent the SOAP for all 5 visits. The remaining 4 visits, including the first one which was the most done (sedation, setting bones back, getting cast) were completely ignored and not processed.

POOR CLAIMS PROCESSING
I have told you several times to no avail. Claims processing is awful and customer service is often unresponsive.

Positive points about the plan
They’re always available by phone. Page just had a big surgery on leg and it was comforting to know my plan covered most of it. Sometimes we may grumble about monthly payments BUT when our pets (my kid to me) get sick/surgery it takes some pressure off the situation. And their reimbursements are processed very quickly …which is very important.
