I am extremely disappointed with Trupanion. I spent over $12,000 in veterinary bills for multiple, serious and separate issues, and every single claim was refused. Not one was covered. What has been most frustrating is that it genuinely feels like the claims were never properly read or reviewed. Each time, a new excuse was given to avoid paying, rather than actually looking at the medical notes and circumstances of the claim. At a time when I was already under huge emotional and financial stress with my dog, dealing with Trupanion only made the situation worse. I paid for pet insurance to have support when something truly went wrong — and I received none. Based on my experience, I would not recommend Trupanion to anyone who expects real support when they actually need to make a claim

The BEST coverage EVER!!!
The immediate response to approve my kitty's procedure made me speechless and so grateful. I didn't realize how much coverage I had and Trupanion responded in under 30 seconds so we could move forward. It was a relief for me to have this additional coverage and can say that it is 100% worth it.

I am so grateful to have this pet insurance, and I urge anybody with pets to get it. The app is super easy to use and submitting a claim is very simple. They also always been very responsive anytime I had a question.

Would never recommend
Would never recommend. They dragged my pets review process for 4 months and then gave me a list of 16 pre-existing medical conditions which were ludicrous. Never filed a claim and cancelled and they refuse to refund me for the 4 months I paid. There's better options out there. THEIR RESPONSE BELOW shows how ridiculous they are, they did not even listen to my complaint. It's not about claims, it's that they dragged her approval process for 4 months while collecting her premium and then replying with 16 pre-existing conditions that are laughable. There are 3 actual pre-existing conditions. I told them to cancel my policy and refund all my money since they dragged it out this long. There are no claims and no money paid out. STAY AWAY THERE ARE BETTER COMPANIES OUT THERE

Wasted time with online application.
The experience was good except for having to repeat the whole application process with the sales agent after receiving an "error" message after attempting online application. Do they really want you to have to talk to the agent?
