Trupanion are crooks
Trupanion are crooks. They operate with the intention of denying your claim and will go to lengths to try and prove pre-existing conditions then put the onus on you to disprove it. They are also inept. Small example of this - Blue Pearl submitted an invoice that had multiple line items. They looked at the first one, marked it as pre-existing and denied the entire claim. I had to follow up myself and have blue pearl dispute the other line items and that's when Trupanion paid up. Earlier they had taken minutes to deny the claim without any diligence. They have taken our money for years, increased our premiums and paid out almost NOTHING.

Overall okay
I like how easy it is to submit a claim. But I received no sort of alerts or emails or information about the process of my claim (if it was approved, if it’s being worked on, how much I will be getting back, etc.) I have to constantly check the app if I want to know that information AND on top of that my insurance premium went up a few dollars this year without them even mentioning it to me which I do not appreciate at all.
