Help When You Need It
Sometimes you just need to actually talk to a company representative when the online links don't address your question. I have found the customer service reps have the answer to my questions and are pleasant and professional.

The WORST insurance
The WORST insurance. First of all, they donate a very tiny amount to ASPCA just to use their name. You are not supporting ASPCA in any meaningful way. Second, they deny most claims as pre-existing conditions, do not respond at all to emails, lose the file over and over need multiple phone calls and emails just to get to respond. Useless. I can't believe they run an insurance business this way.

DON'T GET WELLNESS Misleading FAQ & Emails - COVERAGE DOESN'T START WHEN YOU THINK
In the wellness benefits FAQ section it says... "Is there a waiting period for wellness coverage?" and the answer says.... "NO, THERE IS NO WAITING PERIOD FOR FETCH WELNESS. You can submit wellness claims on or after the effective date that’s given in your enrollment confirmation email. IN OTHER WORDS, YOU GET WELLNESS COVERAGE ON OR AFTER THE DAY OF ENROLLMENT" 2 out of those 3 sentences imply that the coverage will be available immediately or (at the very least) the day after. In the email I received after signing up, the first sentence says "[your dog] NOW HAS THE MOST COMPLETE COVERAGE" Everything up until this point made me feel I had coverage so I took my dog to the vet. 2 claims were denied as a result. I go back and check the confirmation email and 7 lines down from them saying "[YOUR DOG] now has the most complete coverage", it says that the enrollment date is actually 2 days after the email date. When I called in they said "oh yeah coverage always starts 2 days after enrollment" THAT SEEMS LIKE IT WOULD BE HELPFUL INFORMATION FOR PEOPLE SIGNING UP TO USE THE BENEFITS. It's known information within the company that it starts 2 days after signup and they do not share that with the customer. This is purposefully confusing language.

I have had this insurance for 6 years
I have had this insurance for 6 years, had only submitted a few small claims in 2024. Fast turn around for payment. This year my dog was hit by a car, was hospitalized and required surgery. Submitted claims and was asked for medical records from 2020 to 2022. Once they received them they promptly paid out on $21,000.00 worth of claims. Was impressed, and thankful, for the speed of payment on these claims as I live on a fixed income. Would highly recommend Healthy Paws to anyone considering pet insurance

Really read all things related before giving this company your money
I paid six months at $232 for 5 pets because it sounded smart. I have a dog, that has a pre existing condition of a torn ACL. Policy state that they cannot cover pre-existing conditions until you have paid for 6 months. I was like, great.Let's do this. Also, I'd like to mention that this company was sponsored by my husband's union. So It felt legit. We don't make the type of money to really afford that, but we did it. Because we love our animals. So the day after I make my six month payment, I test it out on my oldest cat just because she hasn't seen the vet in some time. Needed some shots. Also a WELLNESS checkup. She is going through this phase though where she will poop or P outside the litter box. Not all the time, just sometimes. She literally taught the other cats how to pee in the litter box. So while we're at the vet, I ask about it. The conclusion he came to, she's probably dehydrated, and it's hard for her to get into the litter box. She's a bit bigger than she used to be.And she's old! Not a big deal that's not why I brought her. But the vet decided to give me liquid prozac to give to my cat to see if that would help with her going potty outside of the litter box. That did not make any sense to me. I'll be honest, so I just threw it away. But I did pay for it, and in fact, this whole experience cost three hundred and fifty dollars, but I thought it's going to be okay because I have pet insurance! Also I got to make sure my sweet baby is healthy. So I turned my claim in. And I wait and wait and wait. Then, I get a message 2 months later saying that the vet Did not write my cat's name on the claim? And I need to resubmit, I also noticed that my wellness claim was turned into behavioral. I didn't do that, somebody changed it! So I resubmitted the receipt for proof and also ask why does it say behavioal issues is my claim? No reply. 2 more months go by and I'm being asked to upload her medical records. Unfortunately, the vet I go to is an animal hospital also, they do not carry files any longer than a year. My cat has not seen a vet in many years. I finally get an email saying my claim has been decided that it is not refundable up to 90%, as stated. In fact, my claim has been denied. Heartbroken, because I really needed that money back. And I was counting on, six months ago. I will tell you that was the biggest waste of money I have ever invested in. I called that day and cancelled coverage. I explained why, there was no trying to help me solve the problem. There was no possible solution to help maybe reimburse the money I put in for no reason. I just made a really bad choice. It sucks
