Avoid, did not process legitimate claim
Avoid, did not process legitimate claim! I purchased a policy for my puppy, and 7 days later he became ill due to eating something he shouldn’t have. By their definition, this is classified as an “injury”. However; they rejected my claim due to the 30 day waiting period for illnesses. They did not even bother to investigate the cause of his case, which they admitted. Our pets are part of our family, and I wouldn’t want to partner with an insurance provider who, either doesn’t do their due diligence, or instinctively tries to find a reason to reject claim. We have insurance for peace of mind and trupanion did not provide that. Perhaps you should rename yourselves to falsepanion.

The transition from my old pet insurance to my new insurance has been fabulous. I was talking to a real person who answered all my questions. They helped me set up my portal. I'm getting reimbursed for my pet's bills in a timely fashion.

Hard to know where to start
Hard to know where to start. Kept saying they didn’t get any info and going to close it out. I stayed on the phone two hours and they confirmed we sent it twice. Then closed it out two days later. Then resubmitted and talked to a guy who couldn’t figure out that tax was added (literally said tax) and then said that’s all they needed and was sure it should be processed soon. Then got a notice that they needed me to change the spelling of the dog’s name and closed it out three days later. Even though they’ve taken months. So we went to emergency vet and made sure it was always spelled “Roo” vs “Rue” (which was on a few pages). Tried to resubmit and their systems are down. Absolutely useless.
