Hassle-free claims submission & reimbursement process
Our 4.5 yo dog started having seizures out of the blue about 6 weeks ago. Medication, more seizures, more meds, more seizures, hospitalization, more meds, more seizures, two more hospitalizations, more meds. We have her home now and are hoping she's stable. Through all of this, the Healthy Paws claims submission and reimbursement process could not have been easier. We've had pet insurance for close to 9 years for our two dogs and only submitted a couple claims. You begin to wonder if you're wasting your money. But when something like this happens, you're so glad you have it. Honestly, if not for this insurance, we might have had to make a very difficult decision before we got to this point.

When my dog became sick
When my dog became sick, I called your Vet Tech. She recommended we take our dog to the vet. This saved her life, because she had a blockage. I had much difficulty submitting claims, because you don’t allow large downloads. It was cumbersome to submit, because I had to speak to an agent each time. All the people I spoke with were kind and understanding.

My dog is now 16 years old
My dog is now 16 years old. Throughout the fifteen years I have had Trupanion insurance, I have found too many claims have not been paid due to “allergy” pre-existing conditions from the first few months of my dog’s life before purchasing the monthly coverage. The deductibles have also been applied inappropriately. There are just too many excuses for non-payment. It’s been a disappointing experience using your insurance. When I hear about friends whose coverage is quick with no objections, I feel that my claims results paled in comparison.

Pet Insurance Is A Must Have!
Pet Insurance Is A Must Have! I chose Trupanion as the provider for my pets as soon as I got my pets. I’m so glad I did. My cat ended up getting a type of cancer along with IBD at age 4 months. Our dog developed urinary incontinence at 4 1/2 years old. They have a good set up for meeting deductibles by condition. Claims are processed quickly and payments made within days. Customer service has been very helpful any time I’ve had to call.

Initial problems filing a claim.
Due to technical problems with entering my claim online (after numerous attempts), I contacted customer service via phone and obtained the email for sending my claim using that method. Two days later I was contacted with a claim number. From that point it was smooth sailing. My claim was processed and resolved to my satisfaction within a reasonable period of time.

Little bumpy at first when they denied my claim based on another pets notes, but they then rectified it once I called. Other than that issue, it's been great.

Zero Stars
Insurance is such a big scam. They find every loophole to not pay on claims. "Itchy skin" and "tartar" as pre-existing conditions. Itchy skin is so vague, and they do not look at causes. So, everything that has to do with the skin is not covered, including ear infections. My dog has allergies, and now nothing is covered. Insurance cares more about shareholders than the policyholders. The company will not differentiate causes for pre-existing conditions. They do not understand the difference between correlation and causation. My policy covered dental, but because my dog had some tartar, the dental was not covered. So, why am I paying for a policy that will not help when my dog needs something. It's better to just save your money.
