Healthy Paws Insurance
I have 3 dogs and they are all covered by Healthy Paws Pet Insurance. I am very happy with this company. All three of them are Frenchies and one of my dogs is sickly. I think he has 90 claims. Healthy Paws handles the claims very quickly. They never denied any claims over the past 10 years. The reimbursement is directly deposited into my bank within a few days. They really care about my animals. Having this insurance has definitely made a difference in what I have been able to provide for my dogs. I strongly recommend this insurance!

The company came through in a timely fashion although documentation had to be resubmitted. But they were compassionate during a hard time.

If you are considering Spot Pet…
If you are considering Spot Pet Insurance, save yourself the money and the stress and look elsewhere. They have repeatedly refused to reimburse anything related to my dog’s skin infection, despite the veterinarian clearly documenting that the infection had nothing to do with allergies. It does not matter what the medical notes say. Spot defaults to the same lazy conclusion every single time. If it involves skin or if my dog is sick, they label it allergy related and deny the claim. What makes this worse is the process. Every interaction turns into an appeal. I submit full records up front. Detailed vet notes. Diagnoses. Treatment plans. Everything they could possibly need. They still deny it. Then I have to call. Then I have to email. Then I have to resend the same documents again. Then I wait 30 to 60 days for a response, only to be told some variation of the same thing. Phone support is frustrating and circular. You explain the situation clearly. They acknowledge it. Nothing changes. The burden is always pushed back onto you, even when their own criteria have already been met. It feels like the system is designed to wear you down until you stop trying. If your pet ever has a skin issue, an infection, or anything remotely adjacent to allergies, do not expect coverage. Even when a licensed veterinarian explicitly states it is not allergy related, Spot will still twist it into one. I regret choosing this company. I regret the time I have wasted fighting for reimbursements that should have been straightforward. This has been one of the most exhausting and one sided customer experiences I have dealt with, period. AVOID THEM

Strongly recommend
All of my experiences with nationwide pets have been positive; customer service is compassionate and efficient, filing a claim is easy, and explanation of benefits are clear. Coverage is great, and without it I wouldn't have been able to save my bird's life. Thank you nationwide!

Luxating patella knee operation
Trupanion quickly responded to my claim for this operation and then showed what they would pay for and what I owed. This gave me peace of mind. Linda

Acting in bad faith, don’t waste your money
My experience with Fetch Pet Insurance was not just disappointing. It felt like bad faith. When my pet had an emergency and needed immediate treatment, I filed my first claim. I had been paying premiums every month without fail. Fetch had no problem taking my money. They had no problem sending constant marketing emails and pointless text messages. But the moment I actually needed coverage, everything changed. Instead of processing the claim promptly, they dragged it out. They asked for one document. I sent it immediately. Then they asked for something else. I sent that too. Then another request. And another. It was a slow, piecemeal process that stretched on for weeks. At no point did they simply tell me everything they needed up front. It felt intentional, like they were looking for a reason not to pay rather than trying to evaluate the claim fairly. Then they denied it. Their justification was that because this was my first claim, they treated the condition as “pre-existing.” Think about that. The first time you use the policy, even in an emergency, they scrutinize it in a way that effectively assumes it must have existed before coverage. That is not something clearly explained when they are enrolling you and collecting premiums. If your first claim is going to be viewed through a presumption of pre-existence, that is a material limitation and should be disclosed clearly before you ever sign up. You do not get to happily collect premiums month after month and then, when a legitimate emergency claim is filed, shift the goalposts and retroactively characterize it as uncovered. That is the definition of bad faith claims handling. Customer service only reinforced that impression. The chat feature is useless. It provides canned responses and no real answers. Phone representatives were dismissive and completely unconcerned about the urgency of the situation or the financial strain their delay was causing. There was no accountability and no effort to resolve the issue fairly. Insurance is supposed to provide peace of mind during emergencies. Fetch provided delay, obstruction, and denial. I cancelled my policy and filed a complaint with my state insurance regulator. Pet owners should be very cautious about relying on this company when it actually matters.
