Good but could be better
I switched to Pets Best due to cost and more coverage. However, they take forever to process claims. I started in December 2025 and already had to call multiple times. The main customer service only gives scripted responses. I had to speak with supervisors just to get clear answers. Their website is clunky and not customer-friendly. I consistently get errors when trying to upload simple PDF files from my vet for my claims.

Fast, Stress-Free Care When We Needed It Most
When my dog needed unexpected veterinary care, I was so thankful we had Pets Best. As a pet owner, nothing is more stressful than seeing your fur baby uncomfortable and worrying about how much treatment might cost. The claim process was incredibly simple and straightforward from start to finish. After our visit to the vet, I uploaded the invoice and documentation through the Pets Best portal. The submission process was easy to navigate, and I appreciated being able to track the status of the claim online. Communication was clear, and I received updates along the way so I never felt like I was wondering what was happening. The claim was processed in a timely manner, and reimbursement was deposited directly into my account. That peace of mind allowed me to focus on my dog’s recovery instead of financial stress. Having coverage through Pets Best truly made a difficult situation much easier, and I’m grateful for how smooth and efficient the entire experience was. I would absolutely recommend Pets Best to other pet parents who want to feel confident they can say “yes” to the care their pets need without hesitation.

Roxys injury
Pets Best accepted all my paperwork when Roxy got a bad infection. They paid my claim promptly.
Pets Best really is the BEST!
I had a very traumatic experience with my dog and almost lost her to toxic poisoning! She is doing great now. I filed my claim very easily on line a couple weeks later. PB replied promptly that I had not sent them an important document that I had thought I had sent in. As soon as they received all the complete documents, they promptly replied again saying that my claim was being processed. From claim being filed to payment, it was only 11 days!! Amazing! Cannot recommend them enough.
Very happy
Honestly, I have been SO happy with MetLife pet insurance. Reasonable premiums, easy claims, excellent coverage options, and super fast payouts. I've never had to appeal any decisions or fight for what I was paying for. They straight up just do what they say they're going to do and pay what they promise when you sign up. Hopefully I'll be with them for a long time.

I will never purchase pet insurance…
I will never purchase pet insurance through MetLife again. the first year we had insurance everything went smooth, no issues. Then MetLife started asking for SOAP notes for all of our pets every single time we filed a claim. I understand asking for them once but why should I have to upload the same notes I did 6 months ago for the same pet. You literally have every single SOAP note on file for my pet. When I call to inquire your representative tries telling me there's no notes for my pets. It's like pulling teeth to process a claim. I just submitted a claim for my cat and MetLife rejects the claim because they want 12 months worth of SOAP notes from 4 years ago which is absurd. My cat was only alive for 6 of those months they are requesting....she's 4 1/2 years old. Every time I call customer service they have limited knowledge on the service and process they provide. I don't even want to submit a claim because I know I'm going to spend so much time getting it processed.
