Trupanion took away the stress of an additional financial burden and allowed us to focus on what truly mattered the most, making sure our baby got the care he needed and was able to come home to us healthy. I've long been a believer in Pet Insurance, but our experience this past weekend made a firm believer out of my husband as well. Our emergency vet was able to submit the claims to insurance before payments were made on our end. This allowed us to just pay our co-insurance. Trupanion also pre-approved the entire deposit that was necessary for our boy to receive his care. We were able to leave him with the best team without paying a dime of the deposit. It made what was already a terrifying and dreadful experience just a little bit easier to weather. Thank you Trupanion!

I've had other pet insurance before and filing claims was always a hassle. I had my receipts and uploaded on the app which took less than 5 minutes. A decision was made a few days later and my check arrived the following week. Had I opted for direct deposit, it would have been faster. End to end such an easy process."

I have yet to have a claim approved…
I have yet to have a claim approved they always find some loophole to deny the claims. I’ve called to get clarification and the best they can do it read off a script. I say “does this qualify” and they say well it depends if it qualifies. I requested to be given the documents they are reading that states what is covered (since the policy document is missing details) but they can’t because “it’s internal only”.

First time submitting claims - great experience
First time submitting claims. The process was extremely simple and got notification via email that they were submitted. One claim results came back right away and the other just a few days later after the weekend. I submitted one not knowing whether or not the items would be covered since we had a bump removed that turned out to be a mast cell tumor during a regular teeth cleaning. The claim representative was quickly able to determine what was covered and what was not within that bill which is hard for people not in the business to decipher. The checks came promptly. Glad we have Pets Best insurance for our dog. Helps us be at ease during this time and just focus on his health.

Insurance is one of those things you don't love to pay for but hope you never have to use. Then you need it and you're glad you have it. Our German Shepard has lymphoma and Trupanion is REALLY helping us out with the treatment costs.

Embrace Pet Insurance…poor reimbursement
I used paid for Embrace Pet Insurance for my dog for many years but hardly ever submitted a claim. In April I submitted a claim for an emergency visit for my dog and it’s been a nightmare to get reimbursed. They claim they haven’t received information which they have. I received multiple and almost daily notices that they need clinical notes from a vet that I already told them he has not seen in years. Their portal was not allowing me to submit requested documents, because it was not working properly but they continue to send me repeated emails even after I email the info myself through the claims department. Their communication system is a mess and they are delaying my reimbursement by any means possible. I’ve been reading that they will find any “preexisting”event such as vomiting a “condition” and not reimbursement. I will update and let you know if they do the right thing and how long it takes them to do it. This experience has been very frustrating and I think they are hoping I’ll give up and stop trying to get my reimbursement.
