Awful company
Awful company . They will scrutinise your dogs medical records to attempt to discredit your claim even when the current symptoms have nothing to do with earlier problems with another insurer. They knocked back my claim for £750 and they also refused a claim made by my mother in law for over £1500. Avoid at all cost

If your Vet accepts direct payment from Trupanion, the process is so seamless.
I had my pet seen by a specialist at a VCA hospital. Since this hospital accepts direct payments from Trupanion the process was easy. I was pre approved for the diagnostics, my deductible and 10% cost was all itemized and the hospital submitted the invoice. So much easier when a Veternarian practice accepts direct payment.

I have had a wellness claim pending…
I have had a wellness claim pending ever since December for one of my dogs. The company kept asking me for verification of a heart murmur that supposedly occurred June of 2023. My pet was not born until October of 2023. Once I had that cleared up they came back with required verification for a sedative that we give our boy for hyper activity. I would not recommend this company to anyone.

It appears that the processing time is taking longer than usual.
It appears that the processing time for claims is extended. There have been some errors, which have further delayed reimbursement. The payment transfer to my bank seems to take more time compared to other institutions. However, I do appreciate the direct deposit option. The coverage options provided are satisfactory.

I’ve had so much difficulty getting reimbursed for my claims. I follow the procedures, submit the paperwork, and it seems that my requests for illness visits always get rejected. I talked to someone on The phone who seemed helpful and gave me some strategies on what to do next, however I haven’t see much progress since trying to submit again through their medical records online. Getting reimbursed for wellness has been a little easier.
