It’s great having the assurance that trupanion is there to help with your pets health bills.
Very helpful on the phone if you don’t understand something.
Bait and switch they do not provide good service or reimbursement.
Healthy paws is the worst insurance you could possibly buy they do not provide what they say they do it’s Baden switch they charge you a fortune and they don’t provide any reimbursement at all in five years with my dog I have not gotten one dime $86 a month for two dogs a Doggo and a French bulldog and they provided no reimbursement at all unless your dog is run over by a car don’t expect to get paid normal wear and tear injections Cleaning’s infections they don’t cover a dime I would not buyThis insurance I would not buy this insurance bait and switch caveat on tour buyer beware
All claims for English Bulldogs will be deemed pre-existing
If you are trying to cover an English Bulldog breed I would recommend looking somewhere else. Before signing up I asked my vet if anything in my dog's file would appear to be preexisting and they said no. Then mostly everything I submitted for reimbursement was deemed per-existing and not covered. He had an un-diagnosed stomach issue and just needed new food and b12 supplement, nothing was covered for that. Eventually he needed cherry eye surgery and soft pallet surgery, none of that was covered. He ended up spending the night in the ICU after surgery, none of that was covered. It is also VERY difficult to get questions answered, 2.5 hour wait times on the phone and no direct email to get questions answered. When you are a new customer that is interested in a quote you will hear back but once you are a paying customer it feels impossible to get someone on the phone.
Pets Best has been wonderful to work with. We had the insurance for a few years when our 5 year old Goldendoodle Walter got diagnosed with an aggressive form of cancer. With all of the emotional distress this diagnoses caused our family, the last thing we wanted to worry about were finances and not being able to select the best treatment possible. Pets Best helped alleviate that financial stress and we were so thankful we had purchased the insurance. Unfortunately, Walter passed away soon after his diagnoses, as the cancer was very aggressive and no treatment was proving effective. Pets Best processed our claims as quickly as possible, and even sent us a sympathy card after seeing on the uploaded receipts that he had passed. On top of all of this, they included a check that reimbursed us for the remainder of the annual cost of the plan. This act of kindness went a long way, and we were so appreciative we were working with such a good company. We struggled a lot with the loss of our best friend, so anything to make the overall process easier meant so much to us. We would highly recommend Pets Best to anyone looking for reliable pet insurance.
We have had Healthy Paws for a few years and it has been amazing! Our sweet Maci has had 2 "ACL" surgeries in the last 7 months. Yes, I know it's not actually ACL, but it's easiest explained that way. We could not have done her surgeries and physical therapy without Healthy Paws. It's a great investment to help keep our Maci healthy! We are now adding our 2nd Goldendoodle on a policy!
Tilly had been struggling with a drug resistant bacteria in her left ear for a year. We had already done a surgery to remove the top part of her ear canal, in the hopes that it would make her ear issue easier to treat. After several more months of treatments and struggle, we needed to remove her entire inner ear. The surgery was tough, and her recovery was long but we got through it. The easiest part of the process was filing for reimbursement. We had an answer on coverage within 24 hours, and we also received a follow up email checking in on Tilly. We have had nothing but positive experiences in the 2 1/2 years we’ve had Healthy Paws. Although we’ve never needed it for our other pup, it’s a comfort simply knowing that it’s there, and that we can be assured of superior customer service. I rotos highly recommend Healthy Paws insurance for your pets.
After few months cancelled my plan cause I found a different one that covered more for $5 more. I cancelled this but they still deducted the payment twice! Calling is a nightmare due to told times, emails never answered and claim took over 3 weeks.
After having Healthy Paws Insurance for over a year, we just made our first claim. We could not be more pleased with the service we received! Our dog was hit by a car and had to have very expensive surgery. We submitted our claim on a Monday afternoon and had the claim completed by Wednesday! Afterwards, they sent a message to check on Pendrick - that was just the icing on the cake! I have been telling all of my pet owner friends about them! 100% recommend!!!
We waited for 2 months for them to process our claim of $299, called numerous time, and in the end the claim was denied because they couldn't reach the vet office which is absolute garbage. We go thru this every. single. time. we submit a claim and I finally had enough. It's easier and less stressful for me and my husband to just pay out of pocket so we have started a small savings account where we put money into it each month so that when/if we have an unexpected vet trip we have the money. We also got the CareCredit credit which most vets take. Going thru this claims process is so drawn out and ridiculous that I get the feeling they do it on purpose so you get frustrated and just quit trying to get the claim paid. In any case, we finally just canceled our policy. It really isn't worth it. I don't recommend this pet insurance at all.
I am so impressed with Trupanion. You get what you pay for in their case. Submitting claims is so easy and response times excellent. Updates are provided every step of the way. My cocker had to have his back knee rebuilt basically..... thank goodness i had insurance!! they do not cover the actual office visit fee, but everything else yes. Will not be giving this up. Thank you for your excellent service.
