Spot citing ridiculous and invalid pre-existing condition to deny claims.
My dog recently had an issue with an abscessed tooth, which she is still being treated for. The company has repeatedly denied insurance claims, citing a pre-existing condition, because the vet records show she had plaque on her teeth and gum disease signs in the past. The vet has confirmed these are not related and information has been repeatedly provided to Spot, yet they are still refusing to reimburse the claims. There will be other claims coming as well as she is still under treatment that I'm sure will be denied as well.

Excellent Pet Insurance
We have had an excellent experience with Healthy Paws! We got this insurance when our dog was a puppy knowing that we just wanted peace of mind in the event of a major accident or illness. In the 8+ years that we’ve been carrying this coverage we have never had a claim denied. Recently our dog underwent a surgery for a torn cruciate ligament and Healthy Paws was as reliable as ever. The claim process is a breeze (love the app!), and we received our payout quickly and seamlessly. We are grateful!

Collected my monthly fee for over a year
Update based on their reply: They claimed "In situations where there is not a ton of medical history available, at minimum we will require the notes from the enrollment exam as outlined in your policy in order to process claims." I provided medical records dating back to 2017, with the most recent being 60 days prior to enrollment. TLDR; They use every technicality they can to deny claims. They've been collecting my monthly fee for over a year and apparently I didn't provide the medical documentation they needed at time of enrollment – despite them sending be a confirmation email that they received my medical records AND the policy is active. Which means that this entire time I'm enrolled with them, nothing I ever would have submitted would get covered. Additionally, they're claiming one item as pre-existing condition, referencing the very medical records (from 2018) that they just said they can't use for our latest issue. Literally the one time my pet has ever needed coverage and during a very emotional time where he was diagnosed with a terminal condition. These companies are absolutely horrific and I'm never buying pet insurance again. Save your money and put your monthly fees in a savings account for medical issues – it will do you more than these companies ever will.

Everything has been fine except...
Everything has been fine except I didn't realize that you had to file your claim within 60 days. My fault for not reading the contract.
