Embrace is AMAZING
We have had Embrace for our cat for 7 years and it has been AMAZING! Our cat has IBD and they have paid 90% of every test, medication, office visit, ect...Never had a denial or an issue. So easy to submit claims and back in our bank account within 1-2 days!

The customer service was great
The customer service was great. The person I spoke to was knowledgeable about the product, since he also has the policy. This is my first time to get insurance out of having 6 dogs. I thought I would try it to see how it does. I tend to put money in a separate account for things that go above and beyond the normal cost of having a dog. I drained the account the last dog I had, so thought I would give insurance a try.

Compassionate Help & Communicative Reps
We lost our sweet puppy after only 5 months of love & trupanion not only made the process seamless and painless in a very emotional time but they made sure to fully explain every step of what was covered, what was not, why, and what the next steps were. Each rep I spoke with was extremely kind and helpful and made sure to handle it with compassion and answer every question I had. The claims process was super simple and while my deductible was too high for the bills we had, I was astonished with how simple it was to submit a claim and how fast it was. From start to finish it was 72 hours before my entire claim was submitted, processed, and a check was issued, premium was refunded & policy was cancelled on this pet. I will forever recommend Trupanion to all of my pet loving friends. The chat function is by far the easiest to use.

Think twice prior to signing up with Trupanion
Want to give anyone contemplating procuring Trupanion as their pet's health insurance provider. I have a Bernese/Aussie mix and joined Trupanion when he was 10 weeks old. I had lived in Andover Ma at the time. On 10/2021 my monthly bill was $41.20. My monthly bill on 5/15/25 will be 279.05. I currently live in Newmarket NH. Think about this. Health insurance for my dog through Trupanion is $3500.00 per year. The reason(s) rising costs of vet care, overall health of the insured population, inflation, the economy and due to " the introduction of new vet technologies". Whatever the rationale, it is hard for Trupanion to justify my starting monthly payment of $41.20 to $ 279.05 whatever the reason. If you do decide to go w/Trupanion, I would recommend ONLY using Veterinary Services that are utilizing Trupanion software. In the event your claim is submitted through the app or otherwise, there is ZERO chance that the claims specialist in reviewing the claim and the medical record will be able to arrive at the correct reimbursement/disposition rate. My dog had a route canal performed two years ago and is required EVERY year from the initial procedure forward to have a follow up to check the viability of the tooth, x-rays etc. While under anesthesia, I have the dentist do a cleaning. I split the date of services into 2 seperate and distinct invoices so as to no leave money on the table in Trupanion prorating reimbursement of the anesthesia @ 50% which is the norm. This year the dentist cut some of his gum that was overgrown. The bill listed as one of the services Gingivectomy, 3 minits/units @ 54.00 a minute. ($162.00 total for the 3 minutes it took while under). Despite me speaking with several intake workers and 3 Supervisors, the claim was incorrectly reviewed and paid as a Gingivectomy, starting a new deductible rather than covered services for a follow up the the route canal. I had spoke to Toni and Megan both supervisors numerous times prior to sending in the claim/invoice to try and avoid this. Now, my money will be tied up for a minimum of 6 weeks while my appeal is being reviewed. Aside from the 580.49% increase in price, my current claim/invoice as well as all of the follow-ups to be done each year will no doubt be processed incorrectly. I cannot begin to tell you the level of frustration I have. I gave 2 stars as everyone is pleasant when answering the phone. I would recommend shopping around to a number of Insurance carriers prior to signing up with Trupanion. Once you do sign up, and in the event your pet has had procedures/claims, you are stuck with Trupanion as other insurance carriers will not cover pre-existing conditions. Frank

Scary situation made easy
I was hoping to pay my premium and never need to use the accident/ illness insurance. But, our dog possibly ingested some bad stuff. The vet and technicians all made the situation much more manageable. If they had been worried they didn’t Let on. But they were very honest with us and put us at ease.

Don't second guess having insurance
Enrolled both my puppies within minutes. Easy process. Thankful I did get our two puppies coverage. 2 months into our new family members being here - trip to an emergency clinic. Will never regret having this coverage.
