Very pleased with Pets Best-Highly recommend

I just renewed my policy for my 15 year old cat. The first time I got insurance for her was a year ago. About 6 months ago she was diagnosed with kidney failure which requires me bringing her to the vet twice a week for fluids. Initially, the tests, hospital stay, and IV fluids was around $1,000. Follow ups and treatments brought the total closer to $1,500-$2,000. Each claim I filed was paid within a week and deposited to my account. After meeting my $250 deductible, they pay 80% up to $2,500 per illness (the basic plan). All payments were made without any hassles. The premium was well worth the cost. Customer service is very helpful and friendly. I highly recommend Pets Best Insurance. I went with the basic plan which had a very reasonable premium.

Pleased

I have used ASPCA on several occasions now but this last occasion showed me that the coverage I have for my pug, Bugsy is excellent. I never thought I would get such good results such as quick service and response. I am so glad for ASPCA and so is Bugsy.

Max, linus amd Nellie+

I decided to get pet insurance after adopting my dog Max for from mixed up mutts. I never had a dog and was always thinking about getting it for my cat but never did. Then when I adopted Nellie a 5 week old puppy. So, I did an internet search for pet insurance companies and compared plans and rates before deciding to go with ASPCA Health Insurance. Im Oct 2010 nellie ate a rock and boy did the insurance help defray some of the cost. I've already saved more than I paid in premiums for a year. So, I would say everyone should get health insurance for their dogs

Very satisfied

On a whim (after seeing how much family members have spent on vet bills) I decided to get pet insurance. The rate isn't too bad, not even $50 a month. 8 months after getting it my dog had a partial bowel obstruction and was in the animal ER for nearly 3 days. Just over $2,000 later I got my dog back (luckily they were able to flush it and he didn't need surgery). It took the animal hospital longer to get the vet to sign the claim form (since I guess that hospital wasn't his normal place to work so they had to track him down) than it took trupanion to process and mail me a check. The pet insurance literally just paid itself off for the next 40 months, well worth it IMO.

Bait and Switch

So disappointed in this service. We started coverage on our dog 16 months ago when he was only 4 months old because if what they offered and because they were recommended by our vet. However, just like every other player in the insurance industry, they are only out screw you. The promise of no rate increases based on the pet's age is false. My dog turns 2 next month and conveniently the premium is increasing from $39 to $97, more than doubling what we have been paying. They claim it is because of increased costs in vet care, but my visits to my vet haven't cost me any more than they did a year ago, let alone double. I will be terminating their service, and do what I should have been doing all along; putting the monthly payments into my own account. I do not recommend them, unless you only want reasonable service at a teaser rate for the first few years of your let's life.

Trupanion is the best!

I am so thankful for Trupanion! I bought my policy about a year and a half ago and have had to make three claims, one for a major surgery after my lab swallowed rocks and they got stuck in his intestines (almost a $3,000 bill), and two other smaller claims. Every time my claims have been processed quickly and I received my check within ten days. It is a very easy process and I know exactly what to expect from them. Can't say enough good things about this company!

Reimbursement not as advertised

My healthy dog was denied any reimbursement for her annual check up and meds (flea and tick and heart worm) prescribed by the vet. Also, her one time only emergency hospital visit bill took 2 months to be reviewed and the reimbursement was approx. 55% even though the total was less than the single visit limit. The annual premium sounds reasonable but I will not renew due to the low level of reimbursement. Was warned that this was not the best plan but it seemed simple and legit. Not saying that it is not simple or legit, just that it leaves the owner with a much larger liability than anticipated.

worst insurance ever

I have not had this insurance for the last 2 yrs...BUT i had it for more then 7 years prior to this. I paid my premiums and never had to file claims for the first few years...when i started making claims they were HORRIBLE. I am a reasonable person...i knew (which was ridiculous) that when the new policy renews yearly whatever you treated the previous year would not be covered again because it now becomes preexisting. That being said...my policy period started march 1st. On the 22nd of march that year my cat was diagnosed with stomach cancer..the Insurance company said that even though we didn't know about the cancer...it was there prior to the policy renewal of march 1st and there fore they weren't covering it.. .Technically i should have been covered for that entire year for this illness till the following policy period but they didn't want to pay anything. Needless to say i sued them. They called me the night before the court date and told me i had to prove the cancer wasn't there before march 1st...i told them as i laughed...i'm suing you...you have to prove it was and i have 2 vets that are the practice owners stating there were no clinical signs and we did not know prior to march 1st. Lets just say i won the case without a problem. NEXT..this insurance company pays "reasonable cost" they go to a town with a population of 10 and that's where they get their reasonable cost from. I would like to know where they got the prices they paid me for some of the vet bi
