Short answer: Personal experience, a one time interaction, regarding first pet I had insured with Trupanion convinced me the company is honest and ethical. I have not needed their services since though I chose to insure 3 new pets with them because of that initial interaction. For what it's worth, I am a retired veterinarian.

Trupanion is is truly the best pet insurance. There is no hassle to process claims and the customer service is always friendly.
