Quick to respond
It's so far been excellent. Easy and convenient and they've answered my questions quickly when I called. The rates have gone up since we signed up for this but I will say that when they are able to bring the rates down they've done that over the years.

Pet Insurance
I have found that an awfull lot is not covered, I thought that 90 % coverage does not cover 90%, and my monthly payment has gone up from $55.00 a month to $136.00 a month but still doesn't cover most things, I am thinking about cancelling the Pet Insurance because of this. Fine.
Fine. I wish you had given the reason on the denial, so I do not have to research it all myself. I am assuming it must have come under the "Previous" situation.

Pollie's Journey
Thanks to the financial help with Pollie's health care costs that Trupanion provides we are able to focus on keeping Pollie healthy, helping her through any medical issues and keeping her active. Our first experience with a major claim was in August/September 2014 when Pollie was 3 years 9 months old. We were on vacation in Nova Scotia visiting Ron's family with Pollie for the first time. A few days after we arrived she stopped eating, was lethargic and weak when standing. She also did not want to play ball, which she normally wants to do 24 hours a day. We took her to a vet and was initial told it was an upset stomach from the flight, then we took her to another vet a couple days later in Baddeck and he ran some tests and thought she was going into kidney failure. He did not give up in her and looked at the blood tests again and noticed her Addison's Ratio was way out of whack. She was in an Addison's Crisis and at that point we did not even know she had Addison's Disease. He pulled her through the crisis by aggressively treating her for Addison's before the results even came in for the from PEI. Her Addison's is now under control with a low dose daily of prednisone and a Percorten injection every 28 days which she will be on for the remainder of her life. The initial cost of the treatment was over $8,000 CAD and her monthly Percorten injection is over $200 CAD. Our second major claim was in May/June 2018 when Pollie was 7 years 7 months old. After I noticed that she had started scooting, I took her into her regular vet to get her anal glands expressed. While she was expressing the right gland she felt a small bump. Pollie was put on antibiotics for 2 weeks with the initial thought that it was an infection. In June 2018 she had surgery to remove the right anal gland and it was found that Pollie had anal gland adenocarcinoma. After her bottom healed she had 6 treatments of chemotherapy. Pollie was in remission for 17 weeks, 1 day before her Oncologist found a tumor regrowth in March 2019. Pollie had surgery done again to remove the tumour and after her bottom healed again she went through radation therapy. 18 fractions in 15 days over a 4 week period. On December 16th, 2019 Pollie went for her 6 month post therapy CT Scan, physical and blood work. On December 19th her Radiation Oncologist phone bright and early in the morning with the news that no sign of disease was found. The treatments for Pollie's cancer to date were over $20,000 CAD. As of today (January 11th) Pollie is 31 weeks, 2 days with no sign of the cancer and her next appointment with her Oncologist is scheduled for April 8th. We celebrated Pollie's 9th birthday in Canmore, AB for the weekend of October 26th and celebrated bring in the new decade in Canmore again with her Dec 29th-Jan 2nd doing most of the things she loves to do, playing ball in the off leash park and going on nature walks in the mountains. We are looking forward to taking her back to Nova Scotia this summer and letting her swim in the ocean, rivers and lake which is another thing she loves to do. I want to thank Trupanion from the bottom of my heart for helping with Pollie's health care costs and allowing me to focus totally on keeping Pollie health and happy. Sincerely, Ron, Pollie and Tammy
