Our whole family has been Embraced!

Our 3 dogs, affectionately known as "The LabraMutts", were first insured by Embrace in June 2007. I was thrilled to find a company that allowed me to create a plan to fit our needs! I chose options that essentially was a major medical plan (accident and illness), had an annual deductible, and a 20% cost share much like human plans. We budget for routine care, but wanted the peace of mind that a major medical plan would provide. Embrace is the first company to offer such a plan! The staff, Embracers, are always the most caring and interesting people I've ever worked with at a business every time I've had contact with them over the years. (I just wish I could work for such a great company). Embrace is always there as we face knew things that come up with aging dogs and with our youngster (now 4 yrs old). Sadly, we had to say good-bye to our oldest dog, Homer, last Tuesday. He had osteosarcoma that spread rapidly. An Embracer allowed me to cry on his virtual shoulder over the phone while I was letting him know that we planned to say our good-byes on Thursday. Sudden symptoms that appeared mid-day Tuesday told us it was time to allow Homer to go to Rainbow Bridge - we believe this was his final gift to us, to go suddenly. We received multiple caring emails from Embracers before he passed and even more afterwards. As one stated, "consider this virtual hugs over the airwaves". Happy with coverage and reimbursement!

On Christmas Eve, we ended up taking our dog, Arrow, to the emergency vet. With a house full of guests and another dog, Arrow had over eaten which lead to food bloat. Several x-rays and overnight at the vet led to a pricey bill. This was the first time we had submitted a claim for an accident/incident and had no idea how much money would be reimbursed. Upon submitting the claim, I was notified it was received and told me I should be notified within 15 business days. I had a check in about 2 weeks. They covered about 45% of the cost (based on our plan). Just this week, they checked in on Arrow. That personal touch goes a long way with me.

I really felt embraced!

Shakti, our 4 month Golden Retriever pup contacted papilloma (which is common) and crutaceous inverted papilloma (which is very rare). Even the team at our Vet's office didn't know what these horrible doughnut like growths on Shakti's stomach were. Shakti needed emergency surgery that day to remove the growths and have them sent out for analysis. Within 2 weeks he was developing another growth and had to be seen by a specialist and subsequently undergo surgery again.When I contacted Embrace regarding Shakti's bills the representatives I spoke to were compassionate and informative. I even received a few phone calls inquiring how Shakti was doing? Embrace's customer service was better than BCBS! And I received payment on my claim faster than the credit card bill came in!

Trupanion is great!

My cat had to have oral surgery done for a condition called feline resorptive lesion and trupanion covered 90% of the fee!! They are awesome and are quick to process claims, I highly recommend Trupanion for any pet owner.

Charlie's Angel

Two months after taking out pet insurance on Charlie, our 13-year-old Westie, he became very ill. X-rays showed that he had eaten a pool toy and it was obstructing his colon. Emergency surgery followed and the bill rose quickly to $8200. Pets Best paid the $2500 maximum (per incident), a nice dent in an insane vet bill. I will not be without pet insurance again.

Best Pet Insurance Out There!

I've sent trupanion numerous claims for my puppy's ongoing urinary tract infection. Every claim was quickly processed. I received a check in less than 2 weeks. Their rates are very reasonable. They will reimburse you 90% of your ACTUAL bill (excluding your vet's fee). Most other insurances reimburse you 80-90% of what THEY think the cost should be in your area. Trupanion is great. I highly recommend them.

Peace of mind at a reasonable price

Trupanion gives all pet owners the peace of mind that we all deserve. They allow our pets to live a full and comfortable life at a reasonable cost. Since my enrollment with Trupanion, my dogs suffered several health issues that surmounted to large vet bills. I know of many cases that pet owners opted to put their pet to sleep because of the overwhelming cost of vet fees—this is unfortunate, but understandable. Luckily, with Trupanion, we never hesitated to seek the best care our dogs deserve. Thank you Trupanion for making our lives that much easier.

Very disappointed ex-customer

We signed up for Petcare QuickCare Optimum (a plan name no longer listed but I had been told on a different occasion that all the features were grandfathered) when we first brought home our puppy (13 weeks old). Around the age of 1 year we discovered she had a congenital back problem. Last year we had multiple claims. Although, we did get reimburse for some of our claims, it was difficult to guess at how much the reimbursement would be due to their rates for usual and customary costs. I filed a claim for an annual check up (supposedly covered) plus blood work. I did not hear anything back so I called to check on whether it was being processed only to be told that there was a problem. According to the representative they wouldn't reimburse for anything that wasn't a new condition for that policy year. In other words any condition, which was ongoing could only be eligible for the first year it was claimed, after that first year anything to do with that condition was excluded from coverage. Now, that was not my understanding when I signed on. My understanding was that pre-existing conditions would be excluded and as my dog was diagnosed six months after the start of our policy there shouldn't have been any problem. I was shocked and at first thought I was misunderstanding what was being said but no I had heard this correctly. My only options were to: a) Continue to donate the premiums to PetCare knowing that my only hope of any reimbursement would be if my dog developed so
