My Lucy is a 12 year old West Highland White Terrier. When an infected anal gland abscessed and ruptured, twice, she required surgery. Because she had such a bad infection in the area, her interior stitches from that surgery came loose and six days later she had a second surgery to redo everything. Two months later, a third surgery was required to close a small fistula between her rectum and the anal gland. That was followed by a urinary tract infection, as a result of the other infection in that area of her body and finally, a yeast infection from all the antibiotics. Because my financial situation is not good at present, without Healthy Paws I may have had to have Lucy euthanized, because I couldn't afford the surgeries and follow treatments. I am happy to say Lucy is fully recovered and I couldn't be happier with Healthy Paws.

Do not recommend. Denied my first claim. I had a veterinary exam done for my dog approximately one month prior to signing up for this insurance they said that it was not necessary to get a exam done. After my first claim they change their tune is saying that he needed to have an exam done up to 15 days prior to any claim. I spoke to customer service and they said that I had not made phone calls to them which I had. They also claimed that the vets records said things that were not actually in the vets records. Typical insurance company.

When my 1-year old dog started vomiting blood we knew it would be an expensive road to figure out why and to treat it. After many tests, x-rays and ultrasounds, she ended up needing surgery at the Emergency Vet Hospital to remove foreign material from her stomach. I submitted the claim to Healthy Paws and received my 90% reimbursement check quickly, no questions asked. I recommend Healthy Paws to everyone I know who has a pet.

Several times I have used Healthy Paws, I always have a check within five days, hard to believe in this day and age. The last time was about a week ago while at a park my dog ate something that made her violently ill, we took her to the vet and she was sent to a critical care hospital. They suspect she ate marijuana. She spent the night on an IV and recovered quite well. The big was large, but with 90% of the bill covered by Healthy Paws it was quite manageable.

Our new puppy broke her leg when she was 17 weeks old, and as new puppy owners were were understandably distraught and really clueless about what her surgery and rehab over the ensuing weeks would hold for our family. When I paid for the first (enormous!) invoice for her initial surgery, I went home while she stayed in the hospital and went on Healthy Paws web site to find out how to start the claims process. The site was informative, easy to follow and all the "paperwork" could be done electronically. Healthy Paws emailed me right away once the paperwork was submitted to let me know the claim was processing, and the payment came very quickly. We can't say enough about how reassuring it was for us to have Healthy Paws insurance coverage during our puppy's recovery.

Don't have much else to say. Healthy Paws has been there for us every single time!

Our 3 yr old Rhodesian Ridgeback, Bamboo, was suddenly very ill with tremors, panting,vomiting blood. Luckily we are able to have him see the vet immediately and, after several tests, he was diagnosed with pancreatitis. A special diet and medications were prescribed and he's back to normal! Needless to say, the bills for his visits were substantial. We submitted our vet bills to Healthy Paws and received a follow-up email that they required his medical history (since this was his first claim). Once we sent the file over, we received another email that the documents were received and the claim was being processed. A day later we received an email of the claim settlement-how much the reimbursement was with a detailed calculation explaining the reimbursed amount - and the check was received a couple of days later. Healthy Paws is excellent in communicating the status of your claim until the claim is settled. The staff is exceptional in their compassionate approach to secure what they need to get you reimbursed as quickly as possible. Our two dogs are covered by Healthy Paws insurance and we couldn't be happier with their product, the service we receive and their true concern for our pets' recovery.
