Do not buy this product

Adopted a puppy from a shelter and purchased this insurance. After having the puppy home for a few days, it got parvo. $1700 later the puppy is fine but this company keeps denying the claim stating that it was preexisting. The vet at the shelter submitted records to the insurance company showing that the puppy did not have parvo at the time it left the shelter. I am on the phone with the insurance company looking right at the medical records that were submitted by the vet stating that the puppy did not have parvo and this guy keeps telling me the records show the puppy had parvo. Plus this insurance guy is saying that the puppy had parvo prior to adopting the puppy. The shelter was kind enough to refund 100% of the adoption fee, but this insurance company won't pay a claim that it is legally bound to pay. I think it's because I just got the puppy and the insurance and that's why they don't want to pay. I have cancelled the policy and have been in contact with the shelter that promotes this insurance to encourage them to find a better insurance to offer. This insurance company is a sham.

lifesaver

I bought this insurance in Sept. My cat has been bitten by an unknown animal in his yard, gotten sick with the only sympton vomiting and at least one other visit to the vet, I forget what for. The claims were all accepted and paid in a timely manner. Questions I had were answered to my satisfaction. You never know when a pet will need extensive and expensive care, which is more likely they will, and this insurance can really pay off.

As a new customer, I'm really impressed!

Sir Stubert now is 10 months old. We've been insured by Healthy Paws since September. About a month ago, he developed a cough, despite being fully vaccinated. Just before the Big Storm, he started coughing up blood. That required a trip to the Emergency Service. A couple of days later, he had a terrible response to the antibiotic. That brought us to the Emergency again.I've submitted the claims and got an Email response very quickly about how much would be reimbursed. I was amazed by the attention, the itemization, and the speed of the response. Most especially, I'm impressed by the follow-up and concern. I actually think that these folks may really care about the animals! As soon as Stubie was well enough, he returned to the dog park to get some R & R. Wouldn't you know it. He was running with his puppy friends and a tree came up out of nowhere...and now he has to fractures in his femur. I don't know what I would have done without HealthyPaws. The support and understanding of the staff, too, is very welcome.

Very slow

Repayment is very slow. Also we never receive an itemization of our claim - we always have to ask.

Great communications slow on getting settlement

The pay back is ggod, the communication is good. However, when I started my policy I was told 10 to 15 days for payment. Then it went to 20 to 25 days. After that I was told those days do not include weekends. All of this should have been made clear at the beginning. Embrace needs to set up payment to the Vet. Many people need the insurance because they don't have the money in pocket. So actually we are paying for the entire visit up front. Human's insurance doesn't work that way and neither should pet insurance.

Peke Reimbursement

The reinbursement took a little longer than usual...but they are the greatest by far. I have 6 pekes and 2 persians covered. I always wondered if I should have i pet nsurance. I tried Embrace and love them.No one can expect cheap insurance and have great coverage and costs covered. Embrace is not cheap...but every penny is worth it.

Fair-

This was my first claim. I am going to pursue a review. I am being told that conjunctivitis is the se as cherry eye and I do not agree. I will have to wait to see how things go in the future. I have not had to use it for accidents.
