Trupanion has been good so far

I like the fact that they cover 90% of costs once you meet your deductible. I do have a high deductible as I really want insurance for those times when something is seriously wrong. It is good for times when you are diagnosing the problem as tests can add up very quickly.

PIECE OF MIND

EYE PROBLEMS SINCE 2 YEARS OLD ASPCA HANDLED GREAT HIPS PROBLEM THE PAST 2 YEARS, MY CLAIMS HAVE BEEN HANDLED GREAT, INFORMATIVE ON A MONTHLY BASIS. ONLY I DON'T BELIEVE IT TAKES ALMOST A MONTH TO PROCESS AN ONGOING CLAIM. I ALSO HAVE ANOTHER DOG ON MY INSUARANCE, A ROTTIE WHO IS 5 YEARS OLD. SHE WAS BORN WITH A HEART MURMUR AND WHEN WE FIRST GOT HER SHE NEED MANY CARDIOLOGICAL TESTS, AND IT WAS A GREAT PIECE OF MIND THAT ASPCA COVERED MOST OF THE EXPANSES(NO CHOICE TO SELECT MORE THAN 1 PET)

Healthy Paws to the rescue

One of the best pet insurances by far. They not only pay the 90% (less very low deductible) they follow up after the case to see if your pet is progressing well and willing to answer any other questions thereafter. They even converse with the vet since I was caught up in my dog's care.

Best Choice for Pet Insurance

I had done a ton of research on which would be the best Pet Insurance Company to go with for our new French Bulldog puppy. We have had previous Bulldogs in our family, but never did have pet insurance and vowed we would always get it with our next family member so we did not take this decision lightly. I not only compared company coverage rates but I went out and looked at consumer reviews of the company and satisfaction ratings. Healthy Paws by far had the best feed back all around from their customers. I can personally tell you that we made the right choice. It is easy to submit a claim either online or via the cell phone ap and the turn-around time from submission to payment is less than 10 days! To top it off - the Ap offers awesome Pet Health tips and the Customer Service is just amazing at this company. I have recommended it to several of my friends and will continue to do so.

Can't thank you enough

My dog suffered a torn ACL about 3 weeks ago. My vet said he needed surgery. As soon as I brought him home, I faxed the forms over to Healthy Paws and within a few days, they processed the claims. I can't say enough good things about Healthy Paws Pet Insurance. The surgery, x-rays, and laser therapy treatments totaled about $2500. Healthy Paws paid $2000.

Prior to Nationwide purchasing VPI, I was happy

I've had VPI for all of my dogs since 2003. Prior to Nationwide purchasing VPI, I would have recommended them o anyone. One of my dogs had a stroke and needed rehab out of state for three weeks, and they covered most of the cost. They also covered a lot of small injuries over the years. In the last year, they have not reimbursed for 1 claim. Each time I submit, I get a response about a month later saying they can't read the vet bill or they need more documentation. It's not possible to send them an xray, but they are authorized to call the vet and learn what they need to substantiate the claim. However, they don't do that. They just seem to find any excuse not to pay what they would have paid prior to Nationwide purchasing VPI. It's really sad. I'm giving them one more shot in submitting a claim today for an eye surgery for my senior dog, and we'll see if I get the same runaround. If I do, I'm cancelling my plans after over 10 years of being a customer.

Best Investment I have made for my Furry Kids!

I rescued a chihuahua(Rocky)in 2013. I bought coverage for him as soon as I could. He has had multiple small things happen in the past 2 years but developed "collapsing" episodes earlier this year. It has been an expensive work up between a neurologist (seizures?) vs cardiologist (syncope?). Rocky was rushed to the animal ER over Memorial Day weekend. He had stopped breathing and had a heart rate of 10 beats per minute. They were able to revive him and the work up showed he had severe pulmonary hypertension. Trupanion has been great! The Vets are happy to submit the claim. Trupanion keeps in touch with me by e-mail so I know they have received the claim. They have never questioned a claim and they do cover 90% (after deductible)of the actual charge, not what they think a reasonable charge should have been (like human insurance). I can't imagine how we could have saved Rocky if we didn't have insurance. I never want to say I couldn't save my dog because I couldn't afford to. I rescued a puppy in February and the first thing I did was get Trupanion for him. I hope I pay those premiums for years to come and never need the insurance but it is good to know that Trupanion has my furry kids (and my) back.
