Trupanion continues to be a wonderful service. I realize that my pet's illness has consumed all of the premiums I have paid over the years making my account a "loss" for the company's bottom line. However, I appreciate that Trupanion's staff is always caring and professional when working to handle my pet's claims. The one area that needs improvement in the pet insurance and veterinarian care universe is billing coordination. It's enough stress to have a pet with a serious illness. I don't enjoy seeing strange bills from my vet because their billing cycle doesn't match Trupanion's. I also tend to panic when vets and clinics have trouble navigating Trupanion's claim and pre-authorization system. It's a lot of paperwork and stress when you're standing at the counter while your pet is afraid and in pain and you have to figure out why you're staring at a $900 visit bill. I recommend Trupanion, I really do. And I sincerely hope that they can differentiate themselves from other insurance providers by creating a smooth and stress-free claims experience.

Elsa tore her ACL a few years ago; she's now well, thankfully, and I'm grateful to ASPCA for providing insurance that helped to offset the financial stress of her surgery and recovery. Their reimbursements were prompt and on the whole hassle free, and because of this I could focus on her recovery and overall health.

Two weeks later, our puppy had a serious accident and needed two nights of care in the hospital. Trupanion was fantastic in processing our claim and covered over $1,200 of our costs within days of our request. The claims representative was exceptionally helpful and caring on the phone -- I highly recommend Trupanion to anyone with a puppy.

Rushed to MSU Veterinary Teaching Hospital, diagnosed within an hour, aggresssive treatment in ICU for several days, kidney failure and liver damage, near death. Leptospirosis suspected and confirmed. Puppy given best possible chance for survival. Cured with no residual damage to any system. Now supercharged with energy and affection. Vet inquired about pet insurance, bill was several thousand dollars. I replied we had a Trupanion policy..Vet relieved...said "they're excellent". He filled out our claim and submitted to Trupanion. Paid without question. We were /are thrilled...!!!

Have had my dog covered for just over a year. Recently had to be hospitalized for unknown illness attacking his liver and kidneys. Bills about $6,000. I filed several online claims and every one was processed within a week. Reimbursement of costs was "as advertised", no problems whatsoever. I'm very happy with ASPCA pet insurance. I love the fact that the deductible is per year and not per incident!!! I think Ruger my min pin has better health coverage than I do. Also, I know it sounds like a lot per month, but it is much easier for me to budget the monthly cost than to cover a vet bill. Having the insurance allows me to make decisions on the best care for my dog without the money factor interfering. The claim is easy to file and if more information is needed they get it from the vet.
