Took our 10 month old kitten in for unspecified pain in the rear end. Physical exam showed no obvious injury. Blood work came back normal. Vet expressed her anal glands as a possible cause was sent home with pain meds. During the exam the vet on call noticed she had she oral issues with her adult teeth. Embrace has now decided our visit was for dental issues and never even addressed the reason we took our kitten in. We made a separate appointment for our kitten to have her mouth evaluated by our regular vet who sent pictures to the specialist. I notice looking at our online pet portal that our kitten is now listed as having diarrhea as a pre existing condition when she was less than two months old. Embrace came highly recommended. I feel a bit disappointed and thankful this wasn't a full blown medical emergency. Now I have to wonder if they're going to use baby kitty runs as a reason to cover nothing the rest of her life.

I purchased ASPCA Pet Insurance and with in a little over a week I made a claim. I had my puppy neutered. I was amazed at fast response and payment I received. Also the amount I received. I have told my family and friends who also have pets. My husband in Sept. of last year. I got my daughter a puppy I did not have health Insurance on him and he had got into poison. That I did not know my husband had put out. And he died. This time I made sure that her puppy would be protected. I was going to make sure this one will not die on her. He is a shih tzu and she named him Fluffy puppy. And takes him everywhere. Even puts him in a baby carrier and then walks around Walmart. He is her best Friend and I am going to keep making sure he has health Insurance and I think if you want a pet then they need insurance just like us. Because they are family.

Healthy Paws response time is unbelievable. No sooner do I make my claim but I get an email acknowledging such. A day later or less I get a notice that my claim has been processed and completed. At that point I can see how much my check will be. Since I know the particulars of my policy, it never differs from my estimate. I have a $100 ANNUAL DEDUCTIBLE with a 90% co-insurance plan. It is reasonably priced compared to other programs including ones offered by my veterinarian. My vet actually now sends in my claim directly from their office to speed up the process. However, I can make the claim myself from my cell phone or just scan it in and make it on-line. The staff is great. If you have a question they have an immediate polite, friendly answer. They are not doing you a favor by answering the phone.

Trupanion has been there throughout my (fairly healthy) dogs life. They're customer service is fantastic! My claims have been paid directly to my hospital while I was paying! So i never paid my whole bill, only my very small portion! It was awesome. Love the company, love the coverage, never had a problem with 3 other pets previously either. Their prices are slightly more than other quotes I got, but you get what you pay for - a high quality company!!!

However, I appreciate that Trupanion's staff is always caring and professional when working to handle my pet's claims. The one area that needs improvement in the pet insurance and veterinarian care universe is billing coordination. It's enough stress to have a pet with a serious illness. I don't enjoy seeing strange bills from my vet because their billing cycle doesn't match Trupanion's. I also tend to panic when vets and clinics have trouble navigating Trupanion's claim and pre-authorization system. It's a lot of paperwork and stress when you're standing at the counter while your pet is afraid and in pain and you have to figure out why you're staring at a $900 visit bill. I recommend Trupanion, I really do. And I sincerely hope that they can differentiate themselves from other insurance providers by creating a smooth and stress-free claims experience.
