We decided to get our dog insured after struggling to afford medications and tests for our cat. I'd had another cat previously that I also struggled to afford veterinary care for, so at the suggestion of my boyfriend, we decided to go the insurance route. We got our dog signed up through their trial of insurance that we got at our veterinarian. Shortly after she broke a tooth, which they covered. A few months later she ate a naproxen tablet, which is toxic! I think the cat was trying to kill her because those pills were safely on the table when we left the house! Well they covered that vet stay too. Then she started vomiting and was later diagnosed with IBD. Not only have they covered that as well, but they pay my vet directly right at checkout so I don't have to worry about paying the full bill. It's been a real relief to pick up more than $200 worth of medication per month and only have to pay less than $20. We've been able to do things like ultrasound and endoscopy to diagnose what she has instead of treating her symptoms and hoping for the best like we've had to do in the past with other pets. We're even using Chinese herbal therapy right now to treat the IBD! We honestly could not have done all of that without Trupanion.

When purchasing the insurance, pre-existing conditions were discussed. I was not informed that on the anniversary of a policy, everything becomes pre-existing. Therefore, nothing you had a claim on prior to the anniversary is covered by the insurance. Only new issues are covered. My mistake - trusting the conversation and not reading the very fine print. There are other pet insurances available, at the same price or less, consider issues that occur when covered are always covered, not just for the number of days left in your current year coverage. What a rip-off.

DrSandra O'connor with Cedarwood Animal Hospital gave a brochure for your company while I was in her office and explained how everything on the program worked I took the wellness plan and am very pleased with the service so I will be adding all of my animals and I will probably sign up for the insurance.I have recommended Embrace to everyone I know that has animals.

I was very pleased that the claim was quick and easy to file and that we received the expected payment.

Initially the reviewer of my claim denied it as not covered, forcing me to call the phone center. During the call and after review my claim WAS covered. Clientele frustration levels could be lower if the reviewers would take more care instead of arbitrarily declining.

ASPCA is easy to work with and receive good benefits for your dollar. On top of this, they provide a personal touch that is unexpected and hard to find in this corporate world. They call me out of the blue to ask how my dog is doing and even call around his birthday sometimes. There is a sincerety in their service and I have recommended them to other pet owners. Check ASPCA out. You and your pet will be glad you did!

EMBRACE is everything you wish any company to be. True to their word; helpful; kind; quick; excellent; easy to contact; great online; easy to get info live or online; I could keep going on. When I have a serious issue and call--they are so caring!! They care that my dogs are all healthy and ok--and quickly. This is the role model for every company!! For many years, I had our dogs insured by VPI. They were great at paying but they only paid back 40% on average. When one of my dogs turned 13, they doubled the premium, which made me look for alternatives.In checking with Trupanion, they promised the World. They claimed they pay 80-90%. Unfortunately I switched. Every claim was listed as pre-existing. Even our Vet, Dr Jeff Werber in LA, contacted TruPanion saying this was not the case. No matter. Unfortunately, because of my dog's age, I could not get my old coverage with VPI or any other carrier. I moved to PetFirst and not happy with that either, but pet owners are limited in choices. My suggestion would be to get catistropic coverage ONLY! And so far, I wish I stayed with VPI.
