The best service ever!

Our CKCS pup was in trouble with what was eventually diagnosed with Addisons. While we were in the assement room at the hospital I got a call from Trupanion telling me not to worry that everything was covered. What a piece of mind that was to focus on getting Lady well again as opposed to worrying how we were going to cover the cost. If you don't have pet insurance with Trupanion then you better get on with it. We are so glad we went with them. The claim was covered right away through direct billing and all cost for the life of our pup are covered.

So thankful for Trupanion!

I have a young dog and debated weather or not to get pet insurance. Fortunately I did, as my dog developed a lump on his tail that turned out to be cancer. He had to have his tail amputated. Trupanion paid quickly and without any hassle.

So grateful we have insurance for our Shadow!

We adopted our mini-poo about five years ago. He's always been healthy, but we decided ASPCA pet insurance was the best option for us. We've only had to use it a couple of times - once when his knees were inflamed, and more recently when he contracted a blood infection due to the irresponsibility of a mobile canine dentist. We were afraid we were going to lose him, but after a month of antibiotics, he pulled through and is his usual sweet self.

great, easy

kani who was 1 yr old torn a ligament in his knee, it was a big operation, scary, and to us a difficult 2 months recovery, trupanion handles claims easily and quickly, allowing us to focus on Kani, with simply checking up e-mails letting us know they have it taken care of, better than my own insurance

My Claim Was Closed

I have been a customer for a number of years, and have been very satisfied with the plan. However, my last claim for my new dog, Shyla, was completely mishandled. First, it was processed under my other dog, then it was "closed for lack of information." I was never notified or questioned for additional information. After I sent a message on your website, I received a reply and, after refaxing the paperwork and an additional receipt, the claim was processed. I can understand if there is a question about a submission, but do not understand why the claim was closed without any notification. It is not a very professional way to do business.

So thankful for VPI

You have to love and accept your pup for who they are and our little girl, Pickles (a Whoodle - Wheaten/Poodle), is something special. Super sweet, loveable, playful, and has major stomach issues. This starting happening at about 8 months with multiple vet visits, x-rays, surgery, food changes, etc to get to the bottom of it. We are so thankful that VPI has been along for the ride covering a majority of our vet bills that have been related to her stomach issues. The claim process couldn't be easier and now our vet even submits on our behalf.

First experience- all claims denied

I adopted a 4 month old lab mix on a Saturday we were happy she came with 30 days of Petfirst insurance, when rescuing a puppy you never know what can happen. We planned to keep the policy to make sure she was well taken care of. The next business day (Monday) I called to activate the policy everything was great they said it would be considered "active" on Tuesday. Monday night our puppy vomited, I immediately took her into the vet Tuesday thinking it was no big deal the policy was active. I sent the claim and notes in the same day. A few days later I received DENIED on my first claim because "the puppy got sick the night before the policy was active, her "gastritis" condition was considered pre- existing." Pre- existing by ONE NIGHT and AFTER I already called to activate the policy! WORST first experience ever! We are now left with over $300 worth of Vet bills, if this is a glimpse into how this insurance works then I see no point in paying a premium for denied claims.
