Simple application and affordable coverage for my dog
The application process for my dog Keenan's policy was straightforward and easy to navigate. The rates are very affordable, offering a reasonable monthly premium and a solid 80% reimbursement rate. So far, the customer service and communication during the signup stage have been great. I'm happy with the experience overall.

10/10 Cristina!
Cristina was really great. She explained the product to me and even had to call me back due to a dropped call on my end. The prices were way cheaper than my current pet insurance provider. Very thankful!

Long-Term Customers Deserve Better
Our dog has been insured with Healthy Paws since 2017. We enrolled him as a puppy with no pre-existing conditions and selected a plan with 90% reimbursement and a $200 deductible. We chose Healthy Paws specifically for the peace of mind that this level of coverage would provide if our dog ever developed significant health issues. Over the years, our premiums increased periodically. While I was not always happy about the increases, I understood that rising costs affect everyone and accepted them as part of maintaining coverage. That changed a few months ago when Healthy Paws increased our monthly premium from approximately $98 to $225.95. Not only was this a dramatic increase, but they also reduced our reimbursement rate from 90% to 70% and increased our deductible from $200 to $500. What is most troubling is that I was given no choice in these changes and no alternative options. When we enrolled in 2017, there was no provision in our policy stating that pets over a certain age would be limited to 70% coverage. Had such a provision existed, I would have reconsidered purchasing the policy. Now, after nearly a decade with Healthy Paws, we have little ability to switch carriers because most pet insurance companies exclude pre-existing conditions. I was never asked to agree to these significant changes. Instead, I received a generic notification email. Healthy Paws built its reputation on providing peace of mind to pet owners. Unfortunately, these changes have had the opposite effect. During our dog's senior years, when insurance matters most, we are paying more than ever while receiving substantially less coverage. In my view, Healthy Paws should have honored the coverage terms that existing customers originally purchased while continuing to implement premium increases as needed to address rising costs. If the company wanted to adopt new coverage limitations, those changes should have applied prospectively to new customers with full transparency from the outset. I am deeply disappointed and can no longer recommend Healthy Paws based on my experience.

If i could give ZERO states I would
If i could give ZERO states I would, WORST EVER!!!Effective June 11, 2026, Healthy Paws has informed me that my monthly premium for my current pet is increasing from $293.00 per month to $444.00 per month. That is a 51.53% increase, overnight, with no meaningful justification, no actuarial transparency, and no regulatory oversight. This is not a modest adjustment. This is predatory. This is financial abuse of pet owners who love their animals and have no viable alternatives. THIS IS NOT ACCEPTABLE — AND IT IS NOT LEGAL.These are not the actions of a company offering a legitimate insurance product. These are the actions of a monopolistic entity exploiting a completely unregulated market to extract unlimited profit from consumers who have no recourse.

Great until your dog is considered a senior...
Up until this year I would have rated this company a 5 all day every day. This year I have had to fight to get claims paid, constant follow-up, repeatedly upload the same files that they request, file appeals for unpaid claims(which were found in my favor) and now I am renewing one of my dogs and have just received a bill with an 81% increase. Unfortunately, my dog is 8.5 so I am locked in with them and the choice is now pay the bill or go without insurance. They have insured by dog since she was 8 weeks old but now that she is older it feels like they just want to force her off their plan.

STAY FAR AWAY FROM THIS INSURANCE…
STAY FAR AWAY FROM THIS INSURANCE COMPANY! As many others have pointed out, they have completely fallen apart over the last few years, likely because they got bought out by Chubb, a large insurance company who has clearly ruined what was once a good and caring company. I have had a healthy paws plan for my dog for 6+ years and besides the insane spike in premiums and poor communications when submitting a claim over the last few years, it is clear that they do not care about your pet and are only here to make money off of you. I was kicked off of my pets insurance plan without warning due to a singular missed payment. When I found out about this, I immediately reached out to remedy the issue and to make the payment only to find out that my account couldn't be reinstated and that the cancellation was final, they wouldn't take my pet back, even after paying on time and having a plan with them for 6 YEARS!! I tried to explain that my account got canceled with no warning, no email, no letters, no calls, I even double checked my address and email on file and they were correct, scoured my inbox and nothing... Their team heard this feedback and said tough luck, we sent notices.... which they clearly did not. No empathy, no understanding, and they flat out just don't respond most of the time. It really feels like as your dogs age, they spike your premiums sky high and then look for any reason to get you off of your plan so that they do not have to care for the pet you have been paying them to care for for their entire existence. You would think that being a customer for such a long time would earn you some grace, but their customer care team could not care less, barely responds, and just blatantly does not care about your pets. The lack of empathy towards a long time customer should speak volumes, if this is how they treat us, then you will be next. Don't believe any of the misleading advertising. For your sanity and your pets health, do not sign up with Healthy paws, you will deeply regret it later.
