Everything is pre-existing to this company!
I’d used Petplan prior to Fetch buy-out/merger. My golden doodle needed a couple of teeth removed. Claim was paid. I continued getting my dog’s teeth cleaned but her teeth are just a problem. At one point years ago, the vet mentioned that she had signs of gingivitis. BECAUSE of that, she is now and forever considered to have pre-existing dental disease (even though in 2021 prior to that), she underwent dental surgery that was reimbursed by Petplan.. It’s as though they combed through every vet note they could find to make sure she can never be covered for dental surgery again. Their monthly coverage continues to increase without alerting the customer. This is so frustrating. Please don’t mention one word about a tremor or twitch. If they goes into the vet’s notes, your pet will forever have pre-existing everything.

Horrible, I don't recommend it to anyone.
I purchased this insurance in May 2025, paid for two full months, and when I finally needed it, it was absolutely useless. I spent $200 on routine veterinary exams that the policy clearly states are covered — but of course, they weren’t. Instead, I was asked to provide my pet’s entire medical history from over a year ago. I came from Brazil, where it’s not common for vets to keep such detailed records — we simply don’t have them. So, in the end, I paid PetBest (which is far from “best”) for two months of premiums and then had to pay another $200 out of pocket. Horrible, horrible service. I would never recommend this insurance to anyone. Insurance is supposed to help in times of need — not create more problems and bureaucracy. Now I’m trying to cancel a policy that never helped me and is still charging me through automatic debit — and guess what? There is NO option to cancel it on the website. Absolutely ridiculous.

I Love Healthy Paws
My dog broke a tooth as a puppy and needed to get it removed. She did a cleaning and xrays before the surgery. A lot of my bill was covered minus the cleaning itself. I was very pleased to have this experience. Having healthy paws really helps with my puppy's emergencies

Healthy Paws is the reason I can make medical decisions based on my love for my dog—not my bank account
Kali has had multiple health issues, including cancer, and Healthy Paws has come through every single time. Submitting a claim is ridiculously easy—just snap a pic of the vet invoice and SOAP notes in the app, and you're done. I’ve always received reimbursement quickly (sometimes even the next day!), and they even reached out after Kali’s surgery to check on her. Who does that? Yes, the premiums go up each year, but after researching nearly every pet insurance company out there, I’ve found their rates to be very competitive. What makes them stand out even more is how user-friendly their app and website are. I can change my reimbursement rate (I chose 80%), adjust my deductible, or switch between mailed checks and direct deposit—all with just a few clicks. Healthy Paws doesn’t cover basic visits or routine dental cleanings, but they cover what actually matters: medications, diagnostic tests, emergencies, surgeries—even dental emergencies. This month alone, I was reimbursed for 80% of a $5,000 procedure. I can’t express how thankful I am. If you're on the fence about pet insurance, let me save you the trouble: choose Healthy Paws. You won’t regret it.
A scam. They won’t be there when you need it
It s simply a scam. I been paying ASPCA many years for my doberman as a preventive measure for when my dog gets old and need veterinary care and what happened is that when she turned 11 the monthly payment was raised to 292.53 dollars and when she turned 12 years the monthly payment was raised to 469,86 dollars. I started years before for less than 80 dollars. I been forced to cancel the insurance before she passed away because the total amount covered was less than the cost of the year. If you are thinking to take the insurance for use it when you will need it most think it twice.
Worth it
We’ve had our dog covered by Healthy Paws since we got him as a puppy. While the policy doesn’t cover preventive care or vet exams, Healthy Paws has always covered any diagnostic treatment for our dog, no questions asked and reimbursed us extremely fast. Our dog is now 11 and has been diagnosed with cancer, and having this coverage for his surgery and treatment has been a huge relief during a time of immense stress. Highly recommend getting a plan for your pet while they’re young. It will one day pay off when you really need it and you can focus on the wellbeing of you pet instead of the vet bills.

Pets Best is the BEST!
"After being with another pet insurance company for 16 years, we switched our 2 dogs to Pet's Best last year. Our process of filing claims, receiving reimbursement, understanding decisions and the value of coverage is exceptional. Making the switch helps us help our pets even more!"
Horrible Company
I had my pet insurance through 24hour Pet Watch - they decided to no longer do insurance so they sold my plan to Hartville. I am now paying more $34.00 more and I have less coverage. Customer Service horrible! I was able to summit claims for prescription food and wellness visits but not with this company!! Do not get your insurance through Hartville.

I agree. I am informing everyone I know NOT to do business with this company.
Very disappointed!
My dog did not have any underlying health issues when enrolling him with this company. He devloped allergies. Our claim was denied for reimbursement. I feel this company took my money for this policy with no intention of ever covering a claim. They cost me the opportunity to go with another company who would have be more honest and who would have paid for these allergy issues, and now I will be denied from any other company as this will be labeled as a "pre-existing." I would NOT receommend this company. If I could give them a 0 rating I would.
Insurance
Response to claims are very timely. My dog is young but she did have a non-critical issue I did not expect. Price went up significantly for me as my income is social security but it seems to be comparable to other insurers these days. I feel this company is quite reputable.
