Disappointed

I am always disappointed by the amount Spot pays versus the amount my vet charges which is consistent with the rest of my area vets. This seems to me to be partial coverage. Nothing close to 80% for example. And it doesn't seem to matter whether we are talking about shots or wellness exam or an illness exam. I am reconsidering using Spot moving forward because what I pay for it does not seem to be a good value relative to what they are covering.

Great Pet Coverage

Great pet insurance and so easy to manuver thru. My advice is to get the coverage of all three because you don’t know what your pet may need. The only regret I have was not getting my puppy full coverage. They are great at paying the claims pretty quickly. Within a week.

You changed my coverage after 12 years…

You changed my coverage after 12 years of being a loyal customer. I would like it back the way it was previously. This was due to a few claims that my pet had.I have paid my ever increasing insurance premiums without a complaint or hesitation. I always told fellow dog owners what good coverage I had. I guess that’s all changed now. I know there will be no response as there usually isn’t from large corporations. My policy went from 90% reimbursement with $100 deductible to 70% reimbursement with a $500 deductible. Raised my rates also but that is a minor complaint. You can complain all you want but nothing will change. It never does. Was a very good company until recently.

You can find better…

The lack of customer service is beyond unprofessional, especially when you need to speak to someone. Had my insurance set for my payday to take out and it literally to the minute of 12am will attempted to take it out when the funds are not even installed yet. To do is a business. I would think that it would have to operate during banking hours or business hours as my bank and employer do. So I asked if I could change it the extraction date, I've called several times waited on, hold. Finally spoke to someone after a 2 hour. Wait, and then still they told me I would have .to wait until it was repulled out of my account. And only then I would be able to call and make the changes. You cannot pay it on your own. As an average, Canadian payments and things have increased. So I do delegate my payments of importance around my paycheck. So for them, to pull out the money 10 to 15 days later, it ask me with nsf in a cancelation. I find sonnet, very unprofessional and anything that says it's good is probably a bot, and if you don't think it's a bot, the whole company is ran by AI. So there's that.

Five stars for insurance?!

Honestly never thought I'd be giving a five star review to an insurance company, but here we are! Our 8-year-old pup had to have TPLO surgery and the coverage/submission/claim process was easy breezy. I was shocked with how quickly we were reimbursed (literally 30 hours after the surgery), and it eased the financial stress significantly.

Make a claim and they'll cancel your policy

I made a claim on my home insurance, they sent out a guy to take a look. After a few weeks we decided not to move forward with the claim, however because we had asked for a review - they have now declined to continue insuring us when we move house. After 4 years, I have to leave them ... because I made a claim. And yes, they replied saying contact them - I did, FOUR times. Over 3 weeks to get the answer - their agents are personable and friendly but bound by insane policies (and most of them also don't email you back as per promises!)

Before I'm approved or my application…

Before I'm approved or my application reviewed for my employer-sponsored pet insurance you charge me $133? I'm not applying for rent.

Not Paying for Office Visit in the case of an emergency

While I understand that Trupanion does not pay for the actual office visit, not paying for one in an emergency is unacceptable. What is the point of having the insurance if it does not cover emergency care? When you have a pet and you want pet insurance, there are a lot of options. I chose Trupanion because of the coverage. I used in when my other cat was ill and his visits were covered. Your coverage has changed and I find it difficult especially when rates have more than doubled in the last few years, with less coverage. My personal health insurance is less with better coverage than you offer for a cat. Unfortunately, I am stuck with this as he now has an existing condition.
