Poor Premium update notice

I called to change my address bc I moved out of state. The person that was helping me updated me with a much higher premium cost than what I was currently paying. She couldn't explain to me why the cost was higher for me in Michigan vs New York, NY - one of the most expensive cities in the world. It was odd, and unsettling.

Do Your Research Before Choosing This Plan

I got this insurance through work and assumed it would be a high-quality plan. Looking back, I really wish I had done more research before enrolling. There are many better options available with significantly stronger coverage. My 6-year-old cat was recently diagnosed with cancer. While this plan reimburses 70% of eligible expenses, the annual reimbursement cap is only $7,500. Unfortunately, that amount does not go very far when chemotherapy treatments can easily exceed $20,000. Since then, I’ve seen many other plans offering 90% reimbursement and annual limits as high as $100,000. My advice to anyone considering pet insurance is to carefully compare plans before committing. Not researching my options more thoroughly is my biggest regret. Now, because my cat has a pre-existing condition, switching providers is no longer a realistic option.

I signed up online

I signed up online, and the process was easy. I was able to review and compare all the options quite easily. Had been putting it off for a while, but my pup was overdue for vaccines and just needed to get it done.

My 13-year-old Golden recently had…

My 13-year-old Golden recently had surgery for a splenectomy plus a cancerous thyroid removal at the same time. I had been considering stopping her insurance a few months ago because I didn't think I would move forward with any major surgeries or treatments at her age. I'm so glad I didn't, because even though she is 13, she is active and healthy. She did extremely well with the surgery and will likely have another one for her lung, also. You'd never know she wasn't just 7 years old. I would not have been able to do the full cost of the surgeries (over 11K) on my own, but Healthy Paws paid over $8,000 (70%) of that, making it possible. I filed my claim a few days after the surgery and the reimbursement was in my account within 2 days.

No one got back to me regarding my…

No one got back to me regarding my quote. I waited since April 30. Also your quotes are wrong. It says there's a discount for purchasing a yearly policy, but the math doesn't add up and it's the same as a monthly policy with the extra charge. To Sonnet's Response: you replied so quick here, but it's been two weeks and I'm still waiting for a response via email.

Great Rates, Terrible Customer Service

I was recently in an accident. The adjuster assigned to my claim has been very difficult to communicate with. Had she provided all the information on the process during our original communication, the process could have moved along much quicker. Instead I was receiving tidbits of information on the process, and then waiting anywhere from 2-9 days for a response. I wasn't provided a list of shops until a week before my rental expired. When I asked for an extension on the rental it was denied. Along the way, I have been asked by the adjuster to basically do their job, call the shop, set up the appointment, contact the tow yard. The whole situation has been extremely stressful, and now I am out-of-pocket for the rental, after finally having my personal vehicle released, only to find out that the shop I chose from the list of shops provided does not accept undrivable vehicles, when it was clearly stated to the adjuster before making the selection that my vehicle was in fact undrivable. Not only has dealing with my claim been stressful, but now the whole situation is affecting me financially, and from what my adjuster stated there is nothing they can do because the time for rental coverage has expired, even though the process is why this has taken so long.

Costs changing on the site

I have one pet already on the insurance plan. We just adopted a new puppy so I wanted to add her as well. I went on the site a few times because we are not sure what breed she is so I was debating what to enter. every time I went to the site it was giving me a different estimate/quote on the amount even though I wasn't changing anything except the breed. I thought the breed was causing the prices to change dramatically. I realized after getting 5 different costs that the reimbursement percentage, coverage type and the plan details were changing every time. This was frustrating to me. Once I realized that, I was able to go in and customize the plan to mirror the one we have for our current dog. I think other customers would find this frustrating and not dig deeper to see why this was happening and give up on the process. The costs varied wildly from $21 a pay period to $50 something.
