Five Satisfied Stars for Healthy Paws Pet Insurance from me! At the time my four year old German Shepherd was diagnosed with Bladder Stones, Healthy Paws Pet Insurance was there for us! The claim for her care, prescriptions and surgery was promptly processed and I couldn't be happier. Their team also reached out to me to follow up on my dog's recovery and progress! They have always been courteous with regard to any questions; but I didn't even have any because it all went so smoothly. This is my first pet to have had veterinary health coverage and I am very pleased to state that I did not have to concern myself at such a stressful time with the costs of my dog's required care.---Healthy Paws Pet Insurance was true to their word and helped us out tremendously! I would recommend this company to others for the peace of mind I get knowing we're covered for anything that comes up. I have never had a problem having a claim paid and it's very helpful knowing that the $600-$2500 you spent on the next rescue is coming back to you eventually. Unfortunately, I may have to drop coverage as I have three dogs and a horse and it is becoming cost-prohibitive. I don't like it but I may have to cancel and take my chances...

rate hike disappointment
I have been extremely happy with our insurance plan for our dog Luna. In fact, I have recommended and referred it to several friends. We have not had many claims since Luna's first year, mainly wellness visits. I was very disappointed to see our monthly premium jump 10% to nearly $100/month. That means I am now paying more for my dog's insurance than myself and my son's monthly premium combined. So far this year we have gotten back 206.21 from our $1085.28 in premiums. Now we are paying $100/year more and using the insurance less. Even more frustrating, we were never told that the rates go up as the dog ages when we first got the plan. I think the rate hike in our case is unfair and unwarranted given how much money you are making with us as customers. As a result, we are now looking at other pet insurance plans outside Nationwide. We would like to keep the wellness plan since that is primarily what we use it for but not at this price. It seems to me Nationwide should consider doing what car insurance companies do for customers like us who do not use the services as often so you get discounts based on that. I am hoping you consider that for us so we don't have to leave.

A must have for all pet owners
Having this insurance has been a life - saver. Our puppy is a bit stubborn and has gotten into some trouble in his 1st year with us. Thankfully, the insurance has helped us w subsidize most of the vet costs, including a major surgery. It would've been much more of a hardship without it.

Best purchase I've ever made!
Purchasing Whole Pet with Wellness from Nationwide has been the best purchase I have EVER made. Having this insurance for my active dog Morrison has allowed me to give Morrison the care that he needed after we discovered he had a bilateral elbow dysplasia that needed correcting. The surgery would have been out of the question without this insurance, but with the help of Nationwide I was able to get Morrison the surgery and all of the recommended steps in recovery. He is on his way back to being a happy active dog!

I must say, Healthy Paws saved my dogs life. This pet insurance company is the most awesome company EVER!!!. They are wonderful on the phones, the people answering them and answering your questions...they are so incredibly helpful. They are pretty much always there for you. They are so quick in receiving vet invoices and viewing them and sending you your check. SO QUICKLY. I am in awe of Healthy Paws. The best company ever. My doggie "Jazzy" had a torn ACL last year, that was $6,000.00 and Healthy Paws paid 90%. And Jazzy tore the other ACL 3 weeks ago and the bill was over $4,000.00. And Healthy Paws paid 90%. And quickly. I recommend Healthy Paws to anyone who has an animal. I have been with them for over 5 years and they really care about your pet...send birthday greetings to them, etc. They email to see how your pet is doing, etc. I really don't know why anyone who has a pet would not get pet health insurance. We, the parents of our pets, have insurance, why wouldn't they? They are are family, our babies. You cannot afford NOT to get insurance. Things happen to pets, like humans. Keep them insured so you can afford to have your pets get the best veterinary care possible. It makes me so so sad that some people can't afford vet care for their pets, so they put them to sleep. That causes anxiety and mental stress on the person who has to go to the vet to put their pet to sleep, why???? because you couldn't afford it? And to let go of the one pet you love and cherish and who loves you back unconditionally??? Highly highly recommend Healthy Paws. I love them!!!! They are my security blanket and my pet (Jazzy's) security blanket. You can sleep well knowing that your pet is insured with Healthy Paws. Love them!! These are truly my own words.
