It’s has exceeded my expectations of what pet insurance does especially after having one that wasn’t that great.
I had pet insurance with another company and it didn’t do what it was supposed to. Finally after reading a bunch of positive reviews on nationwide pet insurance, my family and I decided to join this network and we love it! We feel secure in having a pet insurance like this and that does what we expect it to do and more. I love the virtual vet, it has been helpful in the middle of the night when I would worry too much about whatever is going on with my dog and I would feel better being able to talk to someone online or over the phone.

Beware hidden costs
Every month, I’m paying to get nothing paid back when I visit the vet. This is due to a “per policy” deductible, where you must pay $300 (for example) and then you will be covered. If your pet gets a skin infection once, you will pay. However, if it happens multiple times, eventually Trupanion will pay. The way this system is set up inherently burdens the pet owner with serious costs up! Annual deductibles make more sense when it comes to favorable pay outs to the consumer rather than a per condition deductible.

Great customer service and overall value!
I decided to look into pet health insurance for my dog after a trip to the vet post-snake bite cost me $2,500. I did some shopping around, as there are lots of options out there nowadays. Healthy Paws seemed like a great plan because there weren't as many limitations on coverage. I went with the 80% plan, and boy, am I glad I did. Not but a year later did my dog tear his ACL and needed surgery. It was a no-brainer for me to get him the surgery because I knew Healthy Paws would cover 80% of the $5,000 surgery based on my plan. They were super responsive once I submitted my claim, and the money was deposited into my bank account within one week. Fast forward another year later, my clumsy dog tears his other ACL! So once again, here we were, another no-brainer. Same experience the second go around, and I'm SO grateful to have gone with Healthy Paws the past couple years, where I can put all my energy into rehabbing my doggy and not into claims messes. Why doesn't everyone have pet insurance?
Lately, I've been telling everyone, "Get Pet Insurance!" My husband and i decided to invest in pet insurance on a whim. We had the thought, "What if?" Unfortunately, "What If" happened . . . without Nationwide Pet Insurance, I would not be able to afford my current vet bills and I would have had to let my precious Mercedes go before I truly felt she was ready.
