Quick to get reimbursed!
Once we submitted all the documents requested Healthy Paws quickly issued the payments and it was super helpful! Although the monthly premium went up at the renewal it's definitely worth it.

Save your money
We have found Trupanion is very expensive, and be careful of the claims pay 90%, it never ends up being that, it's always significantly less, and we have yet to have claims that have not been bungled on some level. Save your money, pay yourself the premium and use that for your pets care. I cannot recommend Trupanion after our multiple experiences with them over the past 3 years.

Wow! Excellent insurance! Highly recommend!
I’ve had Healthy Paws Pet Insurance for several years after switching from another company whose prices got way too high. Thankfully, I never had to make a claim until now. My dog had 2 emergency GI events occur with a week of each other. And EVERYTHING that should have been covered was. And it was done so simply and quickly. I’m very grateful and thankful to Healthy Paws for allowing me to totally focus on my dog’s health and not the finances of it all.

Feeling Scammed by Embrace‘s Crooked Wellness Policy
If I could give negative stars, I would. After a simple miscommunication between my husband and me, we realized that neither of us had submitted the receipt for our pet’s tick and flea prevention — something covered under our wellness plan. We pay $225 (split over 12 months) for $250 in annual wellness coverage. Unfortunately, Embrace requires all wellness claims to be submitted within 60 days of the policy renewal date. Because we discovered the mistake after that deadline, Embrace refused reimbursement and kept the $225 we paid. This policy feels intentionally deceptive — a crooked setup designed to profit from policyholders’ honest mistakes. It’s an unreasonable, customer-unfriendly practice that punishes loyalty instead of rewarding it. My advice: stay far away from the Embrace wellness plan. The tiny $25 “benefit” isn’t worth the risk of dealing with such rigid, unforgiving policies built to take advantage of policyholders.

Downgrading policies - BOOO
While I expect premiums to increase as our pets age, I did NOT expect HP to unilaterally change the fundamentals of our policy. When our pets were young, we chose 90% coverage w/ $100 deductible - which was a great decision in retrospect as some of our pets have developed chronic conditions that HP has historically paid without issue. Our annual renewal just came in however, and HP have unilaterally decided to change our coverage to 70% w/ $500 deductible, stating they no longer offer the previous coverage - despite the statement on their page "Coverage with your Healthy Paws plan is continuous unless canceled. The Healthy Paws plan will not drop your pet or decrease coverage due to age or claims". Now that we have pre-existing conditions, changing providers is not a realistic option - so we're stuck with however HP decides to downgrade their coverage. I'd highly recommend looking elsewhere!
