Thank goodness for Pumpkin
Pumpkin has been an absolute lifesaver for us! They reimburse quickly for all visits/medications to treat non-preexisting conditions, without putting up any barriers. One time a claim was rejected due to a mistake on how it was inputted by the vet’s office on the invoice, but when I called and spoke to someone with Pumpkin, they followed up on it and called me back to let me know what I needed to do on my end when resubmitting it. Everyone I’ve spoken to there has been nothing but kind and helpful and it never takes long to reach someone. The yearly rate increase is very minimal to none, which is amazing, considering what I’ve heard about rate increases with other insurance companies. When I count my blessings, Pumpkin is one of them!

Put the money you would pay petsbest monthly into a savings acct instead
This company takes weeks to process even the most basic claims, has no problem increasing your premium even after denying most claims over the course, and engages in one of the oldest scumbag business practices in the book. If you submit a claim in December, they will wait to process it until January, so the amount you paid in December will be counted towards your annual deductible for the new year instead of them covering it in the year the claim happened when your deductible has already been paid. Generally avoid this company. Take the $100 a month you would give this company, put it in a savings account, and let it collect over the course of your pets life.

I am very happy I chose SPOT insurance for my beloved dog. I had my first experience submitting a claim. It was a great experience. As expected, I needed to submit the receipts for the veterinary treatment provided. Once I did not, within a couple of days SPOT deposited the money owed to me in my bank account. Happy customer!

I have not ever had pet insurance before getting this policy for our cat Bob when we rescued him from a local dump where he had been thrown away at 5 weeks old. As he grew I had a feeling he would need help and so I got this policy. Pumpkin has made it possible for me to save him after being attacked by a Bobcat only 15 feet from our back door. Pumpkin has been quick in evaluating our claims and paying them so we can continue to have Bob be treated of his extensive injuries. I am retired and have always had animals but with retirement comes a fixed income and without this coverage Bob would not have been able to be treated as his bills are going to reach our policy limit very soon. I suggest that anyone who thinks they will never need this has to ask themselves this question: when I have to put financial decisions above my pet's welfare will I think that monthly premium was worth it? Just do it and rest assured this company has your back.

I can’t say enough about how thankful I am that we enrolled our new puppy in Trupanion. Never excepted to have to use it, but 10 days having her home she had an accident and ended up with a broken leg. Surgery is going to be required and the peace of mind that we only are required to pay our deductible is such a relief during this already difficult time. We have had dogs for the past 30 years and never felt we needed insurance. Our puppy came with insurance and I thought what could it hurt to sign her up! Thank goodness we made the decision! Life brings unexpected turns and I’m so thankful for Trupanion during this one!
