I could not be happier with the quality…
I could not be happier with the quality and speed of service provided by Pumpkin Pet Insurance. As a pet parent, knowing that I don’t have to struggle with the high costs associated with emergency veterinary services allows me to get my pets the care they urgently need without the added stress of trying to figure out how to pay for needed care.

Suki the super dog
Suki has mast cell cancer in a very rare form. It took Purdue University sending her tests to 2 other states to determine what cancer she has. We went through months of diagnostics in order to actually get her treated. Pet's Best has been with us all along the way. We are so happy we purchased this insurance so that we can give our baby some more time and quality of life! If we didn't have this insurance, we would have had to make some serious financial decisions to pay for Suki's care.

Premium Hikes are Insane
I've had Healthy Paws for 8 years for my 2 dogs and they just gave me a 200% premium increase. WHAT A JOKE.

They increase your monthly payment by $20-30 every year
If you take your dog to the vet they will increase your monthly payment the next year. My dog had a $68 monthly rate and they raised it to $88/ month because of her vet history last year. But in then in the email they sent they claimed it was because of “inflation.” Really breaks trust with customers when narratives don’t line up. They lock you in at a low price. And then raise the price once your pet goes to the vet. And they know you can’t leave anywhere else because insurance companies don’t cover conditions that have already been verified by the vet. So you’re kinda stuck paying whatever they tell you to at that point. Super bummed because I really liked fetch insurance. I thought they really cared about pets, but now I realized it’s all about $$.

Ease and reliability.
Submitting a claim is incredibly easy and takes barely a minute. The website is very user friendly for this. Approval does not take very long, and direct deposit is usually a 2 week turn around. I wish my own health insurance was as up front, user friendly, and reliable, honestly. Embrace has literally been a life saver for my dog Ernie. Choosing Embrace for my dogs' policies was one of the best decisions I have ever made.

Not enough reimbursement for my…
Not enough reimbursement for my expenditures. Deciding whether it’s even worth it to continue with this coverage. Just sent in $900 receipt and was only reimbursed $240 towards expenditures.

Terrible
Terrible — this is completely useless. You are literally paying for nothing. My advice: build your own savings account for your pet’s vet expenses. They backtrack for at least a month, and after waiting that long, they ask for additional documents from your vet. It’s simply ridiculous. The customer service is a joke — poor people working at this company, powerless and helpless. STAY AWAY. In Canada, your best options are TrueCompanion, Pet Plus, or simply using your own money. I spent weeks comparing plans and deeply regret choosing Spot On. Don’t do it.
