Pet's Best is OK
I have been marginally happy with Pet's Best over the last 4 years. I did have an issue where they covered a surgery that didn't accomplish anything, but wouldn't cover a treatment (because it was an 'alternative therapy'). However, that treatment has been more effective and resolved our issue. I'm also highly frustrated at the $351 price hike due to my pug turning 5. The reason was the breed and age. The dog has not even reached it's deductible for 2 years. The customer service is not understanding and gives very scripted and generic responses to you being upset. Same when I tried to get our previously mentioned treatment covered, even with pages of appeal information from our specialty vet... they wouldn't even entertain the idea. Just a generic 'nope, it's not on our list of medications'. Knowing people who have been through catastrophic events with their pets, I have chosen to stay with Pet's Best 'just in case'. Unfortunately, even with the price hike, they still offer the best coverage (I shopped around). Having said all of this, I guess it's the way the world is now a days. No one cares about helping you, they're just out to make money.

Pets Best always comes through
Pets Best always comes through! This is my second year with coverage for my dog. The wellness coverage is just what we need, covers the basics for his meds, blood work, tests and office visit. (Thankfully we haven't needed the emergency coverage.) The claim process is easy on the app and on their web site. This time, the reimbursement for heartworm meds was approved in one day! Interface for reimbursement directly to my Care Credit account is seamless. Their rates are competitive, and I like that I can pay quarterly and set it up through Care Credit. I'd highly recommend Pets Best. Well worth it for the peace of mind.

My puppy got an eye injury at the groomers, and I had to take him to a 24 hour emergency vet. The bill for his injury was $580 and Trupanion informed me that they would only pay $2 of this amount, which was a shock to me! They deducted $250 that I would need to pay per incident, and they also deducted the examination fee. Considering that I am paying $110 per month for this insurance, I was pretty shocked! I am reconsidering my pet insurance provider. If they are not there for me in an emergency, what is the point?

Quality American Product, Fair Price
First off, the people are so friendly and helpful (plus real humans in the USA). Second, I feel I'm getting a quality product at a fair price. Third, the one time I made a claim, it was very easy and their follow through was timely. I highly recommend Prudent Pet Insurance.

Aileen Andino and Maggie's policy
I spoke with Aileen Andino who went into detail about the policy and she answered all of the questions that I asked. She was very knowledgeable and very pleasant to talk with. No high pressure sales talk either which I don't care for. In fact I was thinking about a lower priced policy but changed my mind and went with the 10K policy.

Wonderful first experience with pet insurance. I hadn't bought it for my previous pets, but I finally did for my rescue bulldog because I knew he could have some costly expenses throughout his life. I did some research and ultimately chose ASPCA because of other peoples' good experiences and their fair rates (as I'm on a budget). They process claims quickly, pay fast, and I haven't had any bad experiences so far. I recommend!

Price Hike and Poor Customer Service: Might want to shop around
In April of 2025 I purchased a policy with this company, online. The deductible for the plan was 1000. Since purchasing the plan I have not filed a claim and have made all my monthly payments on time. My monthly premium for a 2 yr old HEALTHY dog started at 78.47. I recently rec'd notice that the premium was raising to 101.48. I went online to cancel the policy and found that I would not be able to cancel the plan online and would need to email the company or call them. I sent an email from my work email [first name.last name@employer] including ALL the information needed to cancel the policy, stating reason of canceling as excessive increase in premium. I was informed that they would not be able to cancel without and email from my personal email account. All this to say: Shop around you can find the same coverage or better for less AND beware that canceling any policy can be a bit of a nuisance.
