Love Nationwide Pet

We love the insurance provided by Nationwide for our Shih Tzu. Reasonable premium and the coverage has saved us big time on some medical issues that happened recently.

I wouldn't have a pet without insurance ever again.

Nationwide pays a significant portion of the vet costs and promptly. Some say the premiums for older pets are too high, but I say it pays for itself and especially avoids unexpected large Vet bills for illness or injury.

Look no further, HEALTHY PAWS pet insurance is the best!!!

I have been the owner of dogs most of my life. Due to health problems of my own, I utilize the services of a "trained service dog". The trainer whom I trained with required us to have pet insurance and after alot of research and yes, reading reviews, I decided Healthy Paws pet insurance was for us. Now, while we paid for insurance for over 2 years and never filed a claim (thankfully, because who wants a sick pup/cat), having this insurance is the best money I pay out every month. Unfortunately, my dog had some sort of stomach issue (colitis?) and weeks later after a freak accident, he was back at the vets office with a torn ACL. The expense for both of these combined has been over $3000.00!! So, having said all of that, I was very hesitant when it came to filing a claim and it's unfortunate that I wasted my time and energy over that because WOW, the process could not have been easier!! I simply took a picture of the vet bill, sent it in to Healthy Paws (via their app) and within 10-15 days, I had my portion of what was covered in my hand. There was no back and forth, they kept me informed every step of the way. Hands down the best decision was going with Healthy Paws!!

A must have !!

This is great insurance and claims are paid very fast and fair. My only complaint is every year rates continue to go up. I guess that is how all insurance works. Overall very impressed with the customer service and claims departments.

Help with vet costs = better care & better life for my pets

Nationwide: Impressive Pet Insurance

After having 7 dogs in my life, I decided to obtain pet insurance for dog #8. After 3 months of coverage, I am very impressed with Nationwide's customer service and attention to detail. My biggest question is what happens when renewals come due after the first year. Hopefully, it will be minimal, and Nationwide will continue their great service. So many companies reel you in, and then gouge you after that first year. I am hoping Nationwide will be different.

Good service, but didn’t recover as much as expected.

It was good dealing with claim. I did it electronically. I spent $830 out of pocket and received $530 back. It’s a good payback, but I would expect 100% paid back, since it was an emergency visit.

Customer service is helpful-not satisfied with the time it takes for claim processing.

I have been happy with the knowledge of the customer service representatives, the user friendly website, and ability to easily navigate through the site to check my dog's claims/information on their profiles efficiently. I am not satisfied with the amount of time it takes to process claims. I can understand that the initial ones may take a little time, however, the immediate follow-up ones shouldn't be a long wait time at all. I am also not exactly thrilled with BOTH of my dogs rates going up pretty significantly after the first year. That was not told to me at the time I was quoted when deciding to chose NATIONWIDE and the only reason why I am keeping the coverage is because I have needed it. I am honestly 50/50 with how I feel about choosing you and can't say that I would recommend the service to friends and family.

Don't sign up for PPU

Stay away from PPU , their customer service sucks. They don't know what they are talking about half the time, they tell you the have removed or added things to your account and then months later you find out they actually didn't. They remove discounts from your account after alreafy being told by someone else it was already off. I was told my avcount would be the same until January and I made dure to ask a fee times just to make sure what my payment would be this month and she assured me it would be the same until January, she even went to as someone to make sure. Well now I checked my account today and guess what they took about $10 bucks more from my account without my permission and beingntold exactly what this payment would be. I had a really bad customer service call last time I was talking to them and askef gor a manager , she saif there was none around and she would deal with it. I told her no and she out me on hold and came back 10 minutes later saying she went and removed my discounts as I use to work at vet clinic. I was like so I have been on hold for another 10 minutes on top of all the other times you put me on hold and you didn't even look for a manager for me. She yet again tried to handle the situation herself but its something she can't deal woth because apparently no body knows how to write notes of their conversations with you. I specifically asked for one to call back within two buisness days and they never did. Never in all my life have I been so disappointed with a company before. I am cancelling today and going with trupanion, they are a way better company anyway. ✌
