Pet insurance during a pandemic
I took out my Healthy Paws policy on my adopted poodle in 2017. My wife at the time thought pet insurance was too expensive and cumbersome, but I kept Fast forward to 2020 our 5 yr old poodle Charlie had a traumatic incident where after four visits to the vet then he was diagnosed with Addison’s disease. He required two days of IVs and shots. Addison disease is fatal if not treated. But manageable if treated. Having the policy during the pandemic was a lifesaver. My wife is a believer. Healthy Paws app made claim submission easy and we were able to follow the process. I would highly recommend Healthy Paws. Sincerely, Steve S

Nationwide Insurance Coverage
My best friend Lexy a female pit bull as been bothered with thyroid issues and requires medical prescriptions and certain test taken to maintain her thyroid issues and Nationwide has been there like a good neighbor you could say covering all medical tests that she has needed.. She's still needing to be watched from our veterinary clinic but with Nationwide Insurance coverage she's well on her way to a healthier life.

Even though the monthly cost is VERY high, I wouldn't dream of having a pet without pet insurance.
Even though monthly cost is high, my guy is 10 years old and let's face it - dogs get sick! Nationwide has been very good to us -- worth the price -- although would love it to be little less!!!

Claim processing could be more efficient
You should be able to submit online rather than having to download a form sign it and fax in. Once submitted it takes a few days to get an acknowledgement that the claim was received. I wish the coverages were stronger for regular checkups and maintenance medicines such as flea and tick and heart worm. Insurance should encourage the use of these medicines and pay for more of them. I get reimbursed for about 1/4 of my spend which is not all that good. I pay close to $600 a year for coverage and never come close to that in reimbursement.

Saved my 4-legged doors life
I am 77 and on a fixed income. We got this insurance for our last Chessie, and carried it over for Nicky Bella. Nicky was recently diagnosed first with a Cruciate Ligament Tear, but when we went for the surgery, discovered that she had a bulging disc which had been exasperated by the recent X-Rays. Nicky is my Service Dog, and a beloved family member. Had it not been for the insurance, there would be no way for us to pay for all of the recent expenses we have incurred so far, and the ones that will be forthcoming. She will soon receive her 2nd epidural for the bulging disc and a re-evaluation to determine if surgery is needed for the Cruciate Ligament tear. She went downhill fast and we thought we were losing her. She had major dysentery probably due to a combination of the pain meds she was on, and had stopped eating for several days. Because of the treatments we have been able to give her, she is making remarkable progress, and right now, it looks as though I will have my beloved service dog and friend for a few more years. I could never thank Nationwide Pet Insurance enough for the support I continue to receive. You are literally saving not only Nicky's life, but mine too. Cannot thank you enough.

Awesome!
I have an almost 6 year (?) old German Shepherd rescue from the pound. Purebred and no health issues, but as an active breed we sure do need insurance! I have the Wellness and Nationwide has been awesome. I switched from Figo last year and never used it because it didn’t cover much. Nationwide is worth the monthly cost since they have covered flea & tick and heart worm meds as well as a foxtail in the ear and a hurt rear leg in just the past four months. I just hope my rates don’t go up!

Take the money until you have a claim, then they don't pay
I had been with Trupanion for 8 month. No issues, no complains. They start charging me since I sign up, no big question asked. They told us that if anything happens they will cover us. Due to a virus or something, my two dog got sick, took them to the emergency, fill the complain with Trupanion and the nightmare started. From the begging they show of how they are not willing to pay. One of my dog was denied since he already have diarrhea once. Seems that getting sick is a preexisting condition. For my other dog they start asking for their previous vet record. I wonder how they didn't ask them on the enrollment process. This clearly show how they are happy to get your money but they are not willing to pay the bills. Just looking for an excuse. Horrible company, we ask for a refund since they were never covered, they call us to cancel the future payment but they are not honoring they commitment or refund us they money they took.

Best Pet Insurance option out there
Many different pricing/coverage levels and never a problem filing a claim and getting payment. Does the price go up, just like people insurance - yes but it's insurance - they all go up. We've had this plan for 5 years and have no plans on leaving this company.

Grizzly
Great company with many good plans to choose from and very speedy claim reimbursements. Recommended by USAA which is the reason for using embrace. Very happy with the service. Washington insurance regulations have caused rate increases which would apply to all pet policy’s.

Covered me during uncertain times
I was very pleased that Nationwide covered almost all of the expenses related to a recent illness of my 11 year old Yorkie. It was even more relieving during the stress of the current pandemic. I am grateful to have had this coverage and would highly recommend!
